The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) has invited applications for its annual scholarship program. The scholarship award programme is being initiated in conjunction with the Specialty Graphic Imaging Foundation (SGIF). The applications would be accepted online process till April 30, 2018, according to SGIA’s official release.
With the donations from endowment investors and industry leaders, the program will give $2,000 each to 15 students as scholarship.
As per the eligibility criteria, the applicants must “plan to or currently be enrolled full-time” at a nationally or internationally accredited college or university for the fall 2018 academic year. Also, the representing school or college must hold an SGIA Educational Institution membership. Moreover, the students must have demonstrated commitment to pursuing a career in graphic communications, printing technology or printing management and maintaining at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, the SGIA release said.
According to SGIA, the students will be required to write an essay and provide two professional or academic letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation and transcripts can be sent by mail or email. Entries will be then evaluated on scholastic achievement, financial need, extracurricular activity participation, work experience and achievements and awards.
The selected students will be notified and announced by May 31, 2018. The scholarship award may be used during the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters.
