12 Veteran Print Teachers Honoured by AIFMP
09 October 2021: The future of a country lies in the hands of its children, and teachers, as mentors, can mould students into future leaders who shape the destiny. Teachers play an important role in the creation of the future generation including printing industry. So, to recognize the contribution of Teachers in the Printing Technology, the All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP) honoured as many as 12 veteran Teachers on Teacher’s Day (5 September), under the theme: Acknowledge the Roots of Printing in India. They were honoured in an online Gala hosted by the AIFMP with the Presidential Print Awards. ‘ACKNOWLEDGING THE ROOTS’ was the first ever effort in India, by AIFMP.
The honoured teachers were: SK Datta (Former Principal RIPT, Jadavpur); Prof. Arun Kiran Pal (Former HOD Printing Technology, Jadavpur University); Rishi K. Uniyal (Former Principal, MIPT, Pune); D. Nagarjuna (Former HOD, Institute of Printing Technology, Secunderabad); Prof. N. Rajeswari (Former HOD Printing Technology, Anna University, Guindy, Chennai); PP Dinesan (Former Principal IPT and Govt. Polytechnic, Shornur); M. Dhanesh (Former HOD Printing Technology, Dr. T. M. A. Pai (Polytechnic, Manipal); Prof. KP Rao (Former HOD Printing Technology, Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal); AV Sreerama Reddy (Former Principal, Govt. Institute of Printing, Bengaluru); K. Devarajan (Former Principal, Krishna Institute of Printing Technology, Calicut); Tarekeswar Prasad (Former Principal, NRIPT, Allahabad) and BN Mathur (Former Principal, NRIPT, Allahabad).
In association with IC (International Circle of Educational Institutes of Graphic Media and Management, AIFMP had a plan to hold a virtual meeting on a technical subject. “While planning for this technical training meet, we discussed about recognising the print teachers who can be considered as the roots of development of printing in India and there was no other better day than 5th September, the Teachers’ Day,” said Prof.Kamal Chopra, President of AIFMP, who himself is an active teacher in printing.
In association with GN Vishvakumar, the honorary general secretary of the AIFMP, Prof. Dr. Rajendrakumar Anayath and Dr. Anjan Baral selected and finalized the list of senior print teachers for honouring them. These are the senior most teachers, selected by the impartial committee who with their dedication and commitment tried to produce the bright students, said Chopra.
The Acknowledge the Root online Gala was graced by Prof Dr. Anastasios E. Politis, the chairman of IC – the International Circle of Educational Institutes of Graphic-Media Technology and Management; and Prof. Dr. Rajendrakumar Anayath, Vice Chancellor of DCRUST University, Sonepat and BPS Mahila Univeristy, Khanpur Kalan, Prof. Dr. Sc Vilko Zilak, emeritus professor in the field of graphic technology, Croatia.
