AIFMP at WPCF Board Meeting @ Zurich, Switzerland
22 July 2025: The World Print & Communication Forum (WPCF) Board meeting was held in Zurich (Switzerland) on 12th June 2025 alongwith the PRINT MATTERS CONFERENCE – Connect, Network and Build the future of Print on the 13 & 14 June 2025. The WPCF President, Byungsoon Kim, Korean Printers Association chaired the Board Meeting, which was attended by Board members from various countries.
During the discussion on potential activities of WPCF, AIFMP President – Satish Malhotra, suggested that in keeping with the current times, the WPCF could play a larger role in the field of developing international trade and help its members with increasing the trade of print products. Discussions were held on efforts be made to increase the membership of WPCF and also the member associations be helped in organising visits to others member nations with the intent to further relationships, evaluate trade possibilities, exchange information on development in research and technologies besides furthering cooperation in fields of interests.
President Kim explained that the next WPCF conference will be held in Korea and that Korea will make a special effort in attracting international guests and potential members.
At the Round Table on economic information, all the Board Members presented an overview of the printing industry and the future trends in their respective countries. Key trends were discussed and deliberated among members.
Beatice Klose, the Secretary WPCF stated that in Europe, Poland stands out as being the largest exporter of printed products. In terms of forecast Smithers have indicated that flexo and inkjet are technologies that will increase in the near future. This is mirrored by the fact that mainly packaging products will increase over the next years. However, also book production shows a positive forecast.
The presence of AIFMP at this prestigious gathering reaffirmed its commitment to representing Indian printers on the global stage and to working collectively for the advancement of the worldwide print and communication industry. The next WPCF meeting will now be held in Korea, coinciding with the exhibition K-Print, in August 2026. The exact dates will be communicated later.
