Lohia Aerospace, Massivit MoU large-format 3D composite tooling in Kanpur
10 August 2026: Lohia Aerospace Systems has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Israel-based Massivit 3D Printing Technologies Ltd. to install a large-format additive manufacturing platform for composite tooling at its Kanpur facility in Uttar Pradesh. The company announced the deal on 4 August 2026 as a joint manufacturing alliance that will bring Massivit’s RapidWings platform to India for moulds and production tools used in aerospace and other composite industries.
Kanpur installation is India’s first commercial large-format additive manufacturing setup for composite tooling. Lohia Aerospace said large-format additive tooling is not yet established in India and that the limited capacity in use today is imported. The alliance is meant to build domestic production and progressively replace imported tooling.
Lohia Aerospace plans to invest about USD 8 million to USD 10 million over the next one to two years, scaling with market demand. The platform will sit inside the company’s Kanpur operations, where a 250,000-square-foot expansion is under way beside an existing 80,000-square-foot plant.
Under the alliance, Lohia will provide manufacturing infrastructure, finishing, quality control and customer delivery through its certified facilities. It will also hold exclusive rights to the platform for India’s aerospace and defence sector, including unmanned aerial vehicles and manned aircraft production.
“This alliance pairs innovation with industrial scale to serve India, one of the world’s fastest-growing aerospace and defence markets,” said Anurag Lohia, Chairman and Managing Director of Lohia Aerospace Systems. Massivit Chief Business Officer Ziki Kuly said the partnership would help localise production of mission-critical aerospace tooling.
Lohia Aerospace Systems was incorporated in 2019 as the aerospace and defence arm of the Kanpur-based Lohia Group. It runs its main composite plant at the Lohia Industrial Complex in Kanpur and wholly owns Light & Strong Ltd, a composites manufacturer in Kanot, Israel. Massivit, founded in 2013 and based in Lod, Israel, supplies industrial large-format 3D printing systems for automotive, marine, railway and other markets.
