AIFMP Announces Karigari 2023 Calls for Entries
19 November 2022: Printing, though a centuries old technique, is considered a mechanical, almost robotic, process of reproducing ideas on paper. It is however much more than merely pressing buttons on sophisticated printing machines. It is an art. An Art comparable to the weaving of rich brocades, the painting of exquisite canvasses, the sculpting of rock.
Printers are, therefore, nothing short of artists and only the exceptionally skilled ones can produce some brilliant examples of prints. Their skill, their Karigari, needs to be dignified with recognition. For this purpose, All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP) presents Karigari 2023, an event to award Excellence in Printing.
They invite entries to compete for the prestigious National Awards for the Excellence in Printing the only awards supported by the Government of India. Organised by the AIFMP, NAEP are the most coveted, tangible and equally visible recognition conferred to a printer in honour of its Karigari and commitment to serve the ever-changing needs of print buyers. To facilitate fair competition this competition is so designed to allow even the most humble print house to show its Karigari alongside the main industry players.
15th Edition of NAEP is hosted by Offset Printers’ Association. Award ceremony will be held at Hotel JW Marriott, Sahar, Mumbai on 29th March 2023. This year for natural justice the system of submitting the entries is being simplified and judging will be done in camera with the help of latest IS software. For the ease of the printers, this time entry form, rules and other details including results will also be available on the official website https://naep.opaindia.in.
Entries submitted must be actual jobs executed for clients within the entrant’s printing company/prepress/post press house located in India, subject to verification. There is no restriction for the number of entries per category/group. There is a non-refundable entry fee of Rs.1,000 per entry/ sample + GST @18% (i.e. Rs.1,180/- per sample). However, if you are submitting 3 or more entries under the same category, entry fee for first sample will be waived off and you have to pay for the balance entries. A company can enter as many jobs in as many different categories as it wishes, but care must be taken to ensure that all information provided is complete and each entry must be accompanied by a completed entry form.
