Amazon Now Surpasses USD1 Billion Annualised Sales Milestone in India

18 September 2026: Amazon Now has crossed USD 1 billion in annualised gross sales in India, according to an Amazon update dated 15 September 2026. Its delivery-in-minutes service now reaches more than 60 cities and towns, creating potential opportunities for packaging suppliers, although Amazon has not quantified additional printing or packaging demand.

What Amazon Now’s sales milestone means

The company’s announcement bases the annualised figure on the latest three-month period. It represents a sales run rate, not USD 1 billion in completed sales over a full financial year, and should not be confused with Amazon’s revenue or profit.

Amazon says orders have doubled every quarter since launch, making Now the fastest-growing ecommerce business unit in its Indian operations. These are company-reported claims, not independently verified performance measures.

The city coverage grew fourfold in less than ten weeks. More than 750 micro-fulfilment and urban fulfilment centres support deliveries, with locations including Tirupati, Guntur, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Vellore, Dharwad, Warangal and Berhampur. Amazon targets 100 cities by Diwali.

Where packaging suppliers could find work

Amazon Now’s assortment includes groceries, fresh produce, frozen food, personal-care and beauty products, fashion, small appliances, and home and kitchen goods. For converters, the practical question is which packaging formats suit each product and fulfilment process, rather than whether every order needs another box.

Screen Print India’s coverage of e-commerce packaging trends discusses right-sizing and reducing unnecessary outer packaging. Suppliers approaching quick-commerce customers should therefore propose protection appropriate to the product, not simply greater material consumption.

Readable codes and suitable materials

For variable information, production quality matters as much as design. Screen Print India’s GS1 code printing guide explains why converters should check contrast, substrate finish and printed-code quality rather than assume that a visible code will scan reliably.

The expansion may also encourage greater use of sustainable materials. Printers and converters can support sellers by offering recyclable mono-material structures, paper-based alternatives, water-based inks and right-sized packaging. However, rapid delivery must be balanced with efforts to reduce unnecessary packaging and improve recovery and recycling.

Amazon Now’s milestone demonstrates growing consumer acceptance of delivery-in-minutes services. As the network expands, packaging suppliers, label manufacturers and commercial printers could benefit by delivering fast, reliable and sustainable solutions suited to the operational demands of quick commerce.
