Central University of Haryana (CUH) Hosts Webinar on “AI for Printing and Packaging Technology”
21 August 2025: The Department of Printing and Packaging Technology, Central University of Haryana (CUH), organized a webinar on “AI for Printing and Packaging Technology” that brought together students and faculty members to explore the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in the sector. The session saw active participation from 74 attendees, including students and faculty members from various engineering disciplines.
The webinar formally began with the University Kulgeet. Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Tankeshwar Kumar, Chief Patron of the event, underscored the pivotal role of Artificial Intelligence as a transformative force in modern engineering. He emphasized that integrating AI across diverse engineering disciplines is essential for enhancing efficiency, driving innovation, and fostering sustainable development. Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Pawan Kumar Sharma served as Patron, while Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Garg, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. In his address, Prof. Garg reaffirmed CUH’s commitment to equipping students with knowledge of emerging technologies to enhance their global competitiveness.
At the outset, Ms. Suman Kumari, Assistant Professor, convenor of the event introduced the speaker and outlined the relevance of the topic. The keynote speaker. Dr. TKS Lakshmi Priya – Academic Consultant from Coimbatore, Tamilnadu and former Head of the Department of Printing Technology – delivered an engaging talk on the integration of AI into pre-press, press, and post-press operations. She explained how AI-driven solutions can improve efficiency, reduce waste and meet the evolving demands of the industry.
Faculty members Dr. Sahmmi Mehra, Dr. Sandeep Boora, Er. Anil, Er. Tarun Singh and staff members Er. Deepak Kumar Sharma and Er. Rakesh Ravish attended the session. Student coordinators Ms. Tanushree Chauhan and Ms. Monika played a key role in ensuring smooth online management and participant interaction.
The webinar concluded with a lively Q&A session, where participants discussed their experiences, sought clarifications, and explored opportunities for collaborative research and industry projects. The event ended with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sandeep Boora.
