CHT Group Sustainability Report 2025 Puts Metrics to Work
03 August 2026: The CHT Group Sustainability Report 2025 shows how the specialty chemicals manufacturer is turning environmental and social targets into operating data. Published on July 31, 2026, the report covers climate and water risks, energy sourcing, product emissions and living-wage goals across the business.
CHT said it aligned its reporting more closely with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) to improve consistency and comparability. During 2025, the company also carried out climate-risk and water-risk analyses covering all its sites worldwide and identified measures to reduce exposure.
Action at production sites
The company reported several site-level energy measures. Operations in the United Kingdom, Brazil and Shanghai switched to renewable electricity, while CHT invested in its own photovoltaic system in Torreón. The report also cites a biomass-based heating project at the company’s Dußlingen site.
CHT has introduced automated Product Carbon Footprint calculations to measure emissions at product level. The system is intended to help the company identify where emissions can be reduced and give customers clearer data on the products they buy.
Recognition for products and management
PIGMENTURA, CHT’s pigment-dyeing process, received the German Sustainability Award 2026 in the products category. Although the award carries the 2026 name, it was presented in Düsseldorf on December 4, 2025. The award’s official website lists PIGMENTURA as a winner in the resources field.
CHT also reported an EcoVadis score of 81 out of 100 and a Gold medal. According to the company, this places it among the top five percent of businesses in its industry. Separately, CHT Group GmbH was named a Best Managed Company 2026 under the German programme run by Deloitte Private, UBS, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and the Federation of German Industries.
Living-wage target set for 2030
More than 95% of CHT employees worldwide currently receive pay above the applicable living-wage level, according to the report. The company aims to extend that standard to every employee by 2030.
The report marks a shift from broad sustainability commitments towards measurable management systems. Its practical value will depend on how consistently CHT reports progress against these targets in future years, particularly on emissions, site risks and employee pay.
