CMAI Organises AI Masterclass for Apparel Industry, Launches CMAI Connect Mobile
06 June 2026: The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) hosted an exclusive AI Masterclass, “Traditional Business Se AI-Powered Business Tak,” on Wednesday, 3rd June 2026 at Yogi Sabhagruh, Dadar, Mumbai. The event attracted participation from over 600 apparel manufacturers, retailers, brand owners, entrepreneurs and industry professionals interested in understanding the role of Artificial Intelligence in business transformation and operational efficiency.
The session was led by AI Evangelist Dr. CA Umang Ratani, who discussed the use of AI across multiple business functions, including marketing, sales, customer engagement, decision-making, productivity improvement and business automation. Through practical examples and live demonstrations, attendees were introduced to methods of integrating AI into existing business models.
Speaking at the event, Santosh Katariya, President, CMAI, said, “CMAI is committed to equip the apparel industry with knowledge, skills, and technological capabilities required to remain competitive and relevant in an increasingly digital world. Today’s initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to promote innovation, business excellence and future-readiness among members”.
During his address, Katariya also announced a new Personal Accident Insurance scheme for CMAI primary members. The scheme will provide protection benefits of up to Rs. 25 lacs and is being introduced as an additional membership benefit without any extra cost to members.
Addressing participants, Dr. CA Umang Ratani stated that AI has become accessible to businesses of all sizes and outlined how organisations adopting the technology can improve efficiency, strengthen competitiveness and identify new growth opportunities.

The interactive format of the masterclass enabled participants to explore AI tools and practical applications that could be implemented within their organisations. The session also addressed concerns related to AI adoption and discussed approaches for businesses beginning their digital transformation journey.
CMAI stated that the response from industry stakeholders reflected growing interest in AI-enabled business solutions and technology adoption within the apparel sector.
Alongside the masterclass, CMAI introduced its new mobile application, CMAI Connect. The application is designed to provide members with access to industry information, event registrations, networking opportunities, policy updates and member benefits through a single digital platform.
