HomeBusinessOBITUARY: D. Sekaran – Founder of Bright Printing Inks/ Navaraj Agencies (Chennai) passes away

OBITUARY: D. Sekaran – Founder of Bright Printing Inks/ Navaraj Agencies (Chennai) passes away

16 March 2021: D. Sekaran, a native of Chennai, the founder of Bright Printing Inks/ Navaraj Agencies left for his heavenly abode at the age of 64 years on 2nd March 2021. His son, S. Immanuel Prakash, is keeping the legacy of 38 years alive and following his father’s footsteps with his blessings.

There is an adage “The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty.” D. Sekaran exemplified this all through his life. His entrepreneurial venture was incorporated in 1983 and he saw positivity in every difficulty he came across. He didn’t lose his hope when his mother abandoned him in his little age. He rather learnt to stand alone and master the art of business. D. Sekaran grew up in a very modest lower middle class family. Having lost his mother in early childhood, he also carried the responsibility of raising his brother. Coming from an era which prioritised government jobs more than entrepreneurship, he went against all odds and rules of society to develop his own business consisting of two factories and a retail outlet.

He made all efforts to grow his business in the best possible way. His regular R&D in the field of textile inks and its auxiliaries helped him serve better to the dealers and customers. His sole aim and advice was to provide quality products and customer satisfaction rather than making profits.

D. Sekaran has never been tired of constantly updating himself on the latest trends and techniques in the field of screen printing, textile printing products and its auxiliaries. In the early 2000s, he was pronounced as the ‘King of Plastisol Inks’ for his quality in manufacturing and supply of inks in Tirupur region.

D. Sekaran has developed friends like family in his business arena. He has been a good instructor for his staff and an efficient mentor to his son in the field of textile inks.

He proved that the 2020 lockdown was not a force to stop him from growing. He invested in better R&D during the lockdown phase. Having understood the problems faced by his staffs during the said period, he made sure that salaries were credited to them on time during the entire lockdown phase.

He was a great expert in managing work and life, in spite of serving in industry which runs day and night to meet customer demands. He has never failed as a loving father of two daughters and a son. We pray to the almighty to give his family the strength to cope with his absence.
