DTG 2022 Bangladesh Expo Postponed to February 2023

04 February 2022: Owing to the ongoing covid/omicron pandemic, the 17th Dhaka Int’l Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition (DTG) has been postponed to 15-18th February 2023 at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka, in concurrent with DITATEX – 17th Dhaka Int’l Textile & Apparel Accessories Exhibition, BISMA – Bangladesh Int’l Sewing Machinery & Accessories Fair and DYECHEM – Dhaka Int’l Dyeing & Chemical Industry Exhibition.

The show was to take place on March 20-23, 2022 at the same venue. In a statement the organisers (Bangladesh Textile Mills Association and Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service Co. Ltd) have said that the increasing uncertainty caused due to new Omicron variant, many countries have begun to impose new travel rules and other restrictions to contain the spread of virus. In this case the Bangladesh government is unwilling to issue required permission for holding of any international exhibitions. As such the show has been postponed by a year to provide an effective business platform with a great atmosphere and bring maximum value to all participants.

The event is being widely sponsored by Ministry of Textile & Jute, Ministry of Industries, Board of Investment (BOI), Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FBCCI), Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce & Industries (MCCI), Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI), Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI), Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BKMEA), Bangladesh Indenting Agents Association (BIAA), Bangladesh Terry Towel & Linen Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BTTLMEA) and Bangladesh Finished Leather, Leather goods, and Footwear Exporters’ Association. The DTG show will be managed by Chan Chao International Co., Ltd.

DTG showcases new technology, state-of-the-art equipments, materials and services, as well as an excellent avenue for international suppliers and visitors to expand business to the lucrative market and accelerate Bangladeshi technological advances that will impart effective quality, high speed and competitive cost to gain that all important edge in textile & garments industry.

It may be noted that Bangladesh is now the 2nd largest RMG exporters in the world. Textile and garment industry is the most important segment of Bangladesh’s manufacturing industry, accounting for 80% of total export earnings and employing 4.4 million people. In the previous edition of DTG, there was a record 36,000 visitors and over 1,200 exhibitors from around the world. 1,650+ Booths spanning 11 Halls are fully occupied with world class leading brands.
