Durst P5 500 TEX iSUB Reaches 50 Systems Sold Worldwide

24 September 2026: Durst Group said on 21 September 2026 that it has sold 50 Durst P5 500 TEX iSUB systems worldwide since the 5.2-metre dye-sublimation printer launched at FESPA Global Print Expo 2025. Speaking from Brixen, Italy, the company tied the strongest orders to North America and Europe, where shops want 5-metre sublimation with inline fixation.

Johann Strozzega, Durst’s Director Global Sales Graphics, said the 2025 launch was not meant to add one more 5-metre printer.

When we introduced the P5 500 TEX iSUB in 2025, our ambition was not simply to build another 5-meter printer, we wanted to redefine how industrial sublimation production could work.

Strozzega called 50 systems in that window a sign the market has moved on. The live question, he said, is no longer whether integrated 5-metre sublimation works. It is how data preparation, printing, inline fixation and finishing can be connected and automated, and how new buyers can see machines already running in their region.

What the Durst P5 500 TEX iSUB does

Durst’s official showroom lists the P5 500 TEX iSUB as a dye-sublimation printer with a maximum printing width of 5,200 mm and productivity of up to 160 m²/h. iSUB is the company’s name for inline fixation, so printing and fixation run in one pass. The same dryer, which uses infrared plus heated plates, can also print transfer paper. Durst describes the inks as water-based sublimation inks.

That inline-fixation idea is older than this 5.2-metre model. Durst’s earlier P5 TEX iSUB inline fixation already aimed to drop a separate heat press or calender on polyester fabrics. The 2025 machine scales that one-step route to superwide rolls.

Where Durst says the 50 systems went

The 50-unit count is Durst’s own sales figure. It has not published a country-by-country list, and no independent audit of installations was cited. The company said demand was particularly strong in North America and Europe for soft signage and fabrics, exhibition graphics and other large-format textile work.

That job mix sits inside a wider dye sublimation market that Smithers still treats as a growth category, including displays and silicone edge graphics.

In 2026 Durst said it presented the printer with a dedicated 5-metre Hasler cutting system, so the line can run from RIP through inline fixation to a cut product. Durst’s FESPA 2026 stand in Barcelona showed that pairing as a continuous sublimation line. That show demo does not mean every sold P5 500 TEX iSUB ships with a Hasler cutter.

Durst also says it has opened a World of Sublimation at its Brixen headquarters. Prospects can put their own files, applications and materials through job preparation, printing, inline fixation and final cutting before they buy. The company says existing users may, if they agree, share what the platform does in live production.
