Gilden recognized as one of the world’s 100 best managed companies in the world

17 October 2020: Montreal based Gildan Sportswear Inc has been ranked 32nd overall by the Wall Street Journal among the 100 Best Managed Companies in the World from a sustainability perspective. The Company also ranked 6th among the world’s top 10 companies in the Business Model / Innovation sub-ranking.

Gildan is a leading manufacturer of everyday basics that markets its products in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America, under a diverse portfolio of Company-owned brands, including Gildan. Its product offering includes sportswear, underwear, socks, nylons and footwear sold to a wide range of customers including wholesalers, screen printers or decorators. Gildan owns and operates high volume, vertically integrated production facilities, which are primarily located in Central America, the Caribbean Basin, North America and Bangladesh.

The Wall Street Journal’s inaugural ranking of the world’s best managed companies from a sustainability perspective was produced based on a review of more than 5,500 publicly traded companies around the world that met standards for disclosure of data showing what programs, policies and performance indicators they have put in place for several dimensions of sustainable development, including environment, human capital, social capital and business model / innovation.
