WOO puts global programmatic DOOH market at USD 1.339 billion
17 September 2026: World Out of Home Organization (WOO) reports that the global programmatic DOOH market reached USD 1.339 billion in 2025, accounting for 7.0% of digital out-of-home advertising expenditure. Its September 2026 study covers more than 40 markets worldwide, giving advertisers and media owners a supply-side benchmark for comparing programmatic adoption.
What the global programmatic DOOH market study measures
The WOO Global pDOOH Expenditure Study 2026 draws on confidential submissions from 12 supply-side platforms (SSPs). PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP independently aggregated the data, according to WOO’s official study page.
The first report, Geography & Country Rankings, covers the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia-Pacific. WOO describes it as its first global supply-side measure of programmatic digital out-of-home revenue.
Screen Print India’s earlier coverage of WOO’s broader market index provides background on the organisation’s wider industry measurement work, rather than a directly comparable pDOOH total.
Germany and Eastern Asia show different adoption levels
WOO reports a programmatic penetration rate of 31.8% in Germany. By contrast, Eastern Asia has a USD 7.3 billion digital out-of-home advertising base but only 0.6% programmatic take-up.
These figures describe different aspects of a market: the value of digital outdoor advertising and the proportion traded programmatically. A large digital advertising base therefore does not automatically mean high programmatic adoption.
WOO presents Eastern Asia as a growth opportunity, but low penetration is not a forecast of future sales.
Data, creative and the next report
The study adds a revenue baseline to an existing industry discussion. Earlier coverage of WOO’s data and programmatic agenda shows how audience measurement and automated trading have featured in its forums.
Revenue measurement is also distinct from campaign effectiveness, a separate subject explored in WOO’s creative effectiveness programme. The expenditure totals alone do not demonstrate stronger advertising results.
WOO offers the full geography report free following registration. Its website identifies a forthcoming second report covering verticals, demand-side platforms and transaction analysis.
