Kishore Kothapalli of Shree Varnishes diversifies into screen printing consultancy for value addition

28 January 2021: After gaining over 2 decades of hands on experience and knowledge in specialty screen printing and value addition, Kishore Kothapalli, owner of Shree Varnishes & U V Prints, Hyderabad, has not diversified into full fledged consultancy in advanced screen printing for offset printers. His services include complete advice on setting up of screen printing units for spot UV and training of personnel in various techniques of UV printing with special focus on value addition/spot UV & UV varnish.

Kishore started his printing career in 1990 and his first teacher in screen printing was Venu Bhagwan, Hyderabad, at that time a screen printing specialist who used to impart training to knowledge seekers. “I was his first employee. Later, I set up my printing unit in 2003 for print finishing service. To begin with, I had only 2 staff, now we have 16 personnel working in our 2600 sq.ft printing factory which has the capacity to roll out 15000 sheets of spot UV jobs. We are also adding another 3000 sq.ft new unit very soon. This spells my success in screen printing. I attended DMI workshop to learn the tricks of UV special effects and its tactful use in creative jobs,” explains Kishore.

With a host of automatic and semi-automatic screen printing machinery, his company offers specialty screen printing services which include: glitter, 3D reflective, fragrance, glow in the dark and other UV special effects on offset printed jobs, both commercial and packaging.

One of his prominent creative works is Shirdi Sai Baba’s photo frame with glow in dark UV which are supplied to photo frame shops at Shirdi Shrine and other cities. “Since it is a religious job, I keep two rupees aside for every poster sold and the money is donated for charity purpose, especially in aid of BPL school children,” says Kishore.

He adds “Now I have started a corporate consultancy to big offset printing firms on the application of UV special effects and how to make optimum use of UV varnishes to offer value addition to print buyers. Also, I have trained several people and I willingly share knowledge with others.”

“In addition to my regular business, I am also engaged in some charity/social work. I sponsor underprivileged kids’ education and contribute to the welfare of the needy in my way,” he concludes.
