Konica Minolta’s Project Aarogya Bridges Healthcare Gap in Vadodara with “Health ATMs”

13 February 2024: Konica Minolta Business Solutions has announced a new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative titled, “Project Aarogya”, aimed at bridging healthcare gap all over India. In this project, the first outreach began in partnership with Manav Vikas Sansthan, where Konica Minolta provided five “Health ATM” machines that were installed at primary and community health centres across Vadodara district.

Project Aarogya’s mission is to simplify healthcare access, throughout India, reaching both rural and urban populations. In these installed “Health ATMs”, the visionary machines serve as one-stop solutions for basic health checkups, offering a variety of tests which will be free-of-cost. This technology will bring significant benefits to underserved communities in rural areas, where access to healthcare facilities can be limited.

Konica Minolta Business Solutions formally launched the initiative on 29th January in Vadodara, Gujarat, one of the selected healthcare centres and in attendance with Konica Minolta’s CSR Implementation Committee along with our executives from the local branch.

Commenting on the CSR initiative, Katsuhisa Asari, Managing Director, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India (P) Ltd. “As a leading technology stalwart, Konica Minolta is highly aware of healthcare inaccessibility in the country. For millions in India’s hinterland, basic healthcare can feel like a distant luxury. This is why Project Aarogya leads as a beacon of hope, among the demographic medically isolated from quality, reliable healthcare.”

Reflecting on this partnership, Akul Vashishtha, CEO at Manav Vikas Sansthan, said, “For decades, we have led with action, when it comes to empowering rural communities. But the healthcare gap has remained a persistent challenge. Konica Minolta’s contribution of Health ATMs is a true game-changer, transforming our philanthropic outreach with innovative technology. We are deeply grateful to Konica Minolta for partnering with us in this transformative initiative, that exemplifies the power of technology and collaboration to address critical societal challenges.”

Konica Minolta’s Sustainability Promotion Department also weighed in on Project Aarogya, stating, “Health, although a fundamental right, is often taken for granted. Increase in population demands us to look into ensuring that health is readily available to all. As a responsible corporate citizen, we at Konica Minolta Business Solutions take our first step at ensuring Healthcare facilities being available at the remotest of areas in India.

Konica Minolta Business Solutions is committed to the long-term impact of Project Aarogya. In initial phase, our collaboration with Manav Vikas Sansthan sets the tone for the future segments in Project Aarogya. Furthermore, Konica Minolta is developing a documentary film capturing the challenges faced by rural communities in accessing healthcare, the impact of the “Health ATMs” project and the positive stories of beneficiaries.
