Label Academy releases Book on ‘Self-Adhesive Labels’

07 December 2020: The Label Academy, the global education resource for the label and package printing industry, has released their book on ‘Self-Adhesive Labels’ market. Edited by Labelexpo Strategic Director Andy Thomas-Emans, Self-Adhesive Labels book is said to be the first time the Label Academy has produced a stand-alone guide on the topic. The book draws on workshop presentations delivered at Labelexpo Europe 2019 by a panel of industry experts.

The book is said to be a best read for converters and brand owners looking for an in-depth understanding of the technologies and end use requirements in this dynamic market sector. It has dedicated chapters on each component of the self-adhesive label laminate including the silicone coated release liner, adhesive technology, the difference between paper and film face stocks, and the specification, performance and testing of the finished label laminate. The book also covers the sustainability aspects of self-adhesive materials, a subject which has assumed greater importance in recent years as legislators and brands turn their attention to eliminating landfill waste from the packaging production chain.
