Leading Photographer Vimal Parmar Honoured with ‘Vande Bharat, Bheeshma Vishista Puraskar’
05 May 2023: Leading photographer Vimal Parmar was recently awarded during the Photofina Imaging Expo held at Hyderabad for his tireless efforts and unwavering dedication towards promoting the printing of photographs. It was a well-deserved recognition and for his invaluable contributions to the photography industry.
Commenting on the felicitation, he shared, “I am thrilled to announce that I have been honoured with the ‘Vande Bharat, Bheeshma Vishista Puraskar’ at the Photofina Imaging Expo in Hyderabad on April 28, 2023, for my efforts in promoting the printing of photographs amongst professional photographers and the general public. Vimal Parmar is an accomplished marketing consultant and digital print evangelist, with more than 36 years of experience in the imaging industry. In addition to his impressive career with leading imaging organizations, he currently serves as an educator, columnist, and advisor, with a particular focus on advancing the art of photography and photo printing in India. He is also the India Editor of Photo Imaging News which is published from the USA since 1983.
His career also includes time as an educator (faculty at Shari Academy of Professional Photography) and communicator (columnist Smart at Shari Academy of Professional Photography) and advisor (to branding agency The Digital Paradox).
As a founding member of Professional Photographers Association of India (PPAI), Vimal has played a pivotal role in promoting the importance of printing photographs among both professional photographers and the general public. His creation of the “Why Print” platform has garnered widespread recognition and appreciation.
Vimal’s contributions to the industry have not gone unnoticed. He has been featured in many publications and more than 200 of his photographs are on display in patient rooms and wards at a hospital in Mumbai, bringing comfort and hope to those in need.
