Lion Prasad P. Panvalkar honoured with ‘My Stamp’ by Mumbai GPO
26 November 2020: A third-generation entrepreneur, Lion Prasad P. Panvalkar (60) of Gajannan & Company, Mumbai, has almost spent half of his life in social work apart from his regular printing materials supply business. It was but natural that he was recently honoured with ‘My Stamp’ (see photo) in recognition of his outstanding social service in Mumbai and surrounding areas.
Lion Prasad P. Panvalkar was elected to serve as First Vice District Governor of District 3231. He joined Lionism in the year 1987-88 from grassroots level with hard work, zeal and enthusiasm and dedication he climbed the ladder of Lionism. Known as ‘man of medical camps’ is a passionate about organizing medical camps in Mumbai (come January 21 he plans to organize a medical camp 500 to cover over people). He would be elevated to the post of District Governor of the Lions International, covering about 60 Lions Clubs in Mumbai. He has been a busy person, involving in numerous social services such as medical camps, educational programmes, and during this Pandemic, his leadership at Lions International, made sure that all the needy persons get PPE kit, sanitisers in private hospitals; rations for poor, food grain and cooked food to people on the road during lock down. He was also felicitated by Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, on 14th October 2020 along with other dignitaries for their outstanding social work during the critical time of COVID-19. His wife Late Lion Smita was actively involved in Lionism till 2011. He is ably supported by his son Lion Akshay Panvalkar (the 4th generation entrepreneur) who is the Zone Chairman this year in our District.

Commemorative stamps are issued, as the name suggests, commemorating important events, prominent personalities in various fields, aspects of nature, beautiful or rare flora and fauna, environmental issues, agricultural activities, national/international issues, games etc. These stamps are only available at Philatelic Bureaux and counters or under the Philatelic Deposit Account Scheme. They are printed in limited quantities.
