Marabu’s VP Stefan Würtemberger named “CIO of the Year 2020” under Cyber Security category

02 December 2020: Marabu’s Vice President IT Stefan Würtemberger has been named “CIO of the Year 2020” in the category “Cyber Security.” According to an official statement, Stefan has been awarded for his exemplary crisis management after a massive cyber attack on Marabu exactly one year ago. Back then, he had only been in office for two months and had passed his baptism of fire with flying colors. Stefan is the Vice President (Information Technology) at Marabu Inks. He joined the company in 2019.

“I’m speechless. But at this point I have to thank my team and all colleagues around the world who have helped my team and me through this difficult time,” said Stefan, the winner of the Award for Cybersecurity! CIO of the year 2020.

“Würtemberger has not only successfully managed a ransomware attack on his company, but also created a best-practice action guide for those affected. His openness deserves as much recognition as his professionalism,” said a jury.
