Media Expo 2022 Mumbai: Reimagining Retail Signage with Cost-Effective Solutions

14 April 2022: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) recent move of making it mandatory for shops to use signage boards with regional language is set to create an influx of business opportunities for the signage industry in India. With the dates of its 2022 edition nearing, Media Expo’s return after two years in the financial capital will be the perfect meeting point to identify innovative as well as cost-effective signage solutions.

Opening next month, the mega event will host over 100 exhibitors showcasing LED and digital signages, advancements in printing technologies and branding solutions in Mumbai. Top signage brands include Cosign India (P) Ltd., ADS LED, Sign India Corporation, Arihant Uniglobe (P) Ltd., Sign Junction, Mistry Sign, Newtech Video Systems (P) Ltd., Universal Signs Creation, PV Media Signage, Mahalaxmi Rubtech Ltd. will be demonstrating innovative solutions at the three-day fair from 12-14 May at the Bombay Exhibition Centre.

LED display screens held the majority share in India’s digital signage market in 2021 owing to their growing adoption in the retail, commercial and hospitality sectors. As the OOH ecosystem evolves technologically, digital signage and billboards will continue to attract attention and offer greater opportunities to local manufacturers. Electronic or digital signages, touchscreen kiosks are emerging technologies as the industry matures.

“The next big opportunity lies in digitising OOH spaces and the civic body’s regional push hints at a massive opportunity – both for signage manufacturers and retailers. Moving beyond traditional signages, retailers can adopt advancements in digital and electronic signages to capture consumer attention and increase retail footfalls. We are confident that the broad showcase will help retailers, corporates and marketers gain new perspectives on the shifting trends,” commented Raj Manek, Executive Director and Board Member, Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd.

An exclusive whitepaper on ‘Indian Digital Signage Industry 2022 – 2028’ will also be unveiled by 6W Research at the three-day expo next month, presenting a forward-looking analysis of India’s growing digital signage advertising segment and sectors that will drive growth.
