Mimaki’s New “ELH” and “ELS” Next Generation UV-curable inks Even more friendly to people and the environment
06 May 2025: Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. specializing in industrial inkjet printers, cutting plotters and 3D printers, has added the next-generation UV curable inks(hereafter, UV ink) “ELH” and “ELS,” which are more friendly to human health and the environment, to Mimaki’s UV ink lineup. These new products will begin sales in fiscal 2025. These products are designed to meet the increasingly stringent environmental regulations in the European and global markets and are formulated to be free of all SVHC*1 and CMR*2 substances.
In recent years, chemical substance management based on the REACH regulation in Europe has been further strengthened, and products containing SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) are required to take a wide range of measures, including information disclosure, reporting requirements and import/export regulations. In addition, there is a growing possibility that the use of inks and printed materials containing these substances will be restricted within the next few years, making “SVHC-free” a priority for the industry as a whole.
UV inks used in industrial inkjet printers does not require a drying process and is highly versatile as it can be used for a variety of materials and is used in a wide range of applications including large format sign graphics, industrial products and custom-made goods. We have been working to improve the image quality and functionality of UV ink for about 20 years.

Mimaki has achieved a formulation that does not contain any SVHC or CMR substances. Furthermore, this ink complies with global standards for safety conformity and is environmentally friendly.
– Low odor that supports comfortable working environment
Odor is reduced by approximately 30% compared to conventional UV inks, providing a more comfortable working environment.
– High functionality for each application
“ELH” maintains the equivalent high scratch resistance of the conventional LH-100 and the “ELS” ensures the equivalent flexibility of the conventional LUS-120 and LUS-170. Customers who are already using our printers can switch to the new ink with confidence.
“ELH” and “ELS” are scheduled to be launched gradually after June 2025.
