Print Harvest of Tirupur Enhances Sustainability Initiatives by Installing Roof Top Solar Panels

09 June 2023: K. Thasthakeer, CEO of Tirupur-based Print Harvest shares details of the various aspects where they have emphasised on eco-friendly options.

Headquartered at Arulpuram, Tirupur, Print Harvest is a leading textile/ t-shirt printing unit with 4 ROQ machines, 6 embossing machines, 2 sublimation printers and related accessories in premises spread over 50,000 sq. ft. production area. We have a workforce of 150+; we take care of our staff like family members. Our daily printing production is 20,000+ pieces and we are doing job work for leading garment exporters.

At Print Harvest, we are committed to using eco-friendly and sustainable inks while consistently maintaining a clean and healthy working environment. Sustainability is the buzzword of the present, which will lead the textile printing industry to a better and brighter future. We are always paying attention to this aspect and ensuring whatever necessary steps need to be taken. Caring for the environment and following sustainable practices is an important part of our philosophy and approach.

Taking this endeavour to the next level, we have recently installed roof top solar panels on the terrace of our unit. This enables us to produce 110kw of electricity from a natural, renewable source in an eco-friendly manner. The benefits of this investment will accrue not only to us but the entire nation as this will cater to 50% of our power requirement. This step taken by us is in sync with emphasis of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has been constantly promoting solar energy, so other printing units can also follow our example and do the same.

Rooftop solar PV systems can be installed on any type of roof having sufficient load bearing capacity. On a clear sunny day, 1 kWp solar power plant can generate 4 to 5.5 units in a day. The daily energy generation from the RTS shall be dependent on the temperature and solar irradiance among other parameters and these may not be same every day.
