What the VersaObject IO-300 offers

The VersaObject IO-300 is a B2 UV flatbed printer with a 30.31 by 20.28 inch print area and clearance for objects up to 8.03 inches high. Roland DG lists output of up to 37.7 square feet per hour in CMYK mode, along with industrial printheads, positional control and EUV-H hard-ink options.

Its intended work includes industrial components, control panels, promotional products and customised goods. The company says the printer can print on materials such as acrylic, glass, metals and plastics, subject to the ink and preparation required for each application. Production controls, VersaWorks software and Roland DG Connect form part of the supplied workflow.

How the RC-300 Series handles shaped products

The VersaObject RC-300 Series uses helical printing for direct decoration of cylindrical, tapered and curved-profile items. Roland DG offers the standard RC-300 and the RC-300c Clear Support Model; the latter is designed for transparent, pre-filled and pre-labelled bottles without blackout filling.

That makes the line relevant to beverage, cosmetics, promotional and packaging work where labels or sleeves may not fit the job. Roland DG says a medium 20-ounce tumbler can be printed in about 60 seconds, although throughput will vary with artwork, inks and set-up.
