ROQ Set to Rock in Ludhiana in 2022 by Crossing 100 Installations

05 April 2022: On the last day of the recently concluded GMSSA Exhibition in Ludhiana (25 – 28 March 2022), Suru Sood, Director of Indiana Group, was delighted with the outcome of the expo. There were few order bookings as well as many serious enquiries for ROQ’s Next automatic textile screen printing machine – 9 color configuration. “We had showcased with a live demonstration of printing 9 colours. As the exhibition was held after a gap of two years, there was a lot of enthusiasm among the investors as they could watch some innovation,” says Suru Sood.

“We have a sure target to cross 100th installations by the end of 2022,” asserts Suru Sood, revealing further, “We have been receiving repeat orders and some of the customers have 5 to 10 ROQ machines. We eagerly await the 12th installation this year by a repeat customer.” Indiana Group has been representing ROQ for nearly a decade.

Indiana Group – an ISO-9001:2000 company established by Rakesh Sood, is one of the leading chemicals distributors in northern India. Their product range includes bulk solvents, intermediate, pharmaceuticals and speciality chemicals from international and locally reputed manufacturers, in addition to ROQ textile printing machines.

“Explaining the features of ROQs Next, he says that the automatic textile screen printing machine has an Independent Lift on all Print Heads, which functionality increases production speed even further by optimizing each print stroke and speed individually while boosting performance for easy under the print head special effects FLOCK, FOIL, and other compatible attachments. ROQs Next is fitted with a Lightning-Speed Index. The dual-chain drive system enables “Go-To” platen features for simple setup, print-from-screen functionality for quick strike-offs, and faster indexing for cycles up to 1,200 pieces per hour. Powered by the ROQ NEXT’s chain drive system, this “step back” feature is used to QC proof a job faster than ever. Moreover, ROQ Next is said to be perfect for ROQ Digital HYBRID.

Since the Ludhiana market is catering to the domestic market which is now zooming, the demand for automatic textile printing machines is on the rise for the last few months. The 2-years Covid-19 lockdown and the absence of exhibitions have created a big vacuum in the Ludhiana market. So, GMSSA was held at an opportune time,” says Sood, adding, “Many big corporates in the textile sector are also taking a keen interest in the domestic market and that has added to the market growth. When it comes to investment in automatic textile printers, the Ludhiana market is highly price sensitive. In the last few years, they had invested in cheaper machines, but there were problems with Registration and life of the so-called cheaper automatic presses. However, ROQ is offers machines with a perfect registration system, sturdy machines requiring less maintenance, the machine is long-lasting and the availability of spares is not a problem. So, ROQ offers real value for money. Now investors are realising that cheaper machines are not alternative to high-quality machines /high-performance machines. In the case of ROQ, our ten-year-old machines are still running with high performance.”

It is observed that there is a growing trend in the market wherein garment manufacturers, who used to outsource the textile printing jobs, have started creating their in-house textile printing facility.

“Yes, this trend is prevalent now even in Ludhiana. However, garment manufacturers are setting up in-house textile printing units for normal jobs. But for critical and highly creative designs, they prefer to outsource the printing jobs. After Printing gives value to garments and printers are more equipped with technology and knowhow to handle complex printing jobs. Hence there is no threat to the existence of garment printers,” says Sood in support of textile job work printers.

He concludes by asserting “The market is very positive and ROQ is going to rock in 2022 and beyond for sure.”
