ScreenSET is Set to Revolutionise Screen Printing Training in India

15 March 2023: Prashant Sardeshmukh, Director of the Pune-based venture explains the importance of proper skilled training for the industry to progress.

We Recently participated in the Screen Print India – Industrial 2023 Expo at Mumbai to educate and interact with industry colleagues, explaining to them the importance of proper skilled training to their staff members. At ScreenSET in Pune, we have screen making service and a training centre for advanced screen printing process which is technically supported by SEFAR, Switzerland – a leading manufacturer of screen mesh.

Recently we visited the SEFAR Training Centre in Switzerland and had 2 days advanced training in screen printing. We provide services in research & job development, training, aluminium frames, screen stretching exposing and trading in screen printing raw materials.

Also, during our recent visit to Wiesloch, Germany, we visited the Kiwo Technical Centre and were able to discuss the latest developments and advancements taking place in the industrial screen printing industry globally.

We are offering tailor-made solutions as per the requirements of the industry. The growing industrial screen printing industry in India is facing multiple challenges and one of them is shortage of skilled manpower. We at ScreenSET are taking an initiative from the last 10 years to lend a professional training to the company staff as well as training new recruits or students with modern technology. We are also planning to launch a new course on ‘Printed Electronics’ in India. We are in touch with the manufacturing industry and are constantly updating our training and meeting the requirements as well as stay ahead of the dynamic needs.

ScreenSET was initially established to offer informal training, education and support to our customers. Later on, in May 2018 we took a conscious decision and also extended ScreenSET’s educational services to print professionals and students for which we have the technical support of SEFAR who have provided a pneumatic stretching unit, testing equipment and study material support. Their contribution is a benchmark in screen printing. We are catering to the genuine need for trained screen printing professionals. Our faculty team and supporting team are the strength of the Screen SETinitiative.

Disseminating technical skills and knowledge among new entrants and upgrading the same among the existing members is crucial for the financial growth, raising quality levels and economic development of any industry; and screen printing is no exception. However, due to the dearth of specialised institutes or training establishments in India exclusively dedicate to providing formal technical education in screen printing, most of the printing houses are forced to utilise unskilled staff for the production process.

Prashant Sardeshmukh, Director, ShriRam Enterprises has set an example that deserves to be replicated across the industry by establishing a screen printing training centre and sustaining it over such a long period of time. The ScreenSET training centre is spread over a 3000 sq ft area having all screen making, printing and curing/drying facilities for practical training.
