Tamilnadu Government signs MoU with Kaynes Circuits India
05 August 2025: The Tamilnadu (TN) Government has signed an MoU with Kaynes Circuits India (KCI) to set up an electronics manufacturing plant at Thoothukudi (formerly called Tuticorin is a port industrial city in Thoothukudi District in Tamilnadu) at a cost of Rs.4,995 crore. The facility is expected to generate approximately 4,700 jobs and nearby districts. The location is close to the upcoming VinFast EV plant, which could support the development of a broader manufacturing cluster in the region
KCI is a subsidiary of Kaynes Technology India Ltd. (formally know as Kaynes Technology India (P) Ltd.). The unit will focus on manufacturing advanced electronics components. These include multilayer PCBs (up to 74 layers), HDI PCBs, flexible PCBs, camera module assemblies, wire harnesses, and high-frequency laminates. These products are used in sectors like telecom, defence, aerospace and consumer electronics. The planned investment in Tamilnadu aligns with Kaynes’ expansion plans.
