Techtextil and Texprocess Forums to Address Key Textile Industry Trends

12 March 2026: Techtextil and Texprocess forums will present discussions on technological and market developments affecting the global textile industry. The forums will take place from 21-24 April 2026 in Frankfurt, bringing together experts from industry, research and business. The programme will cover topics including AI-supported production, digital manufacturing, circular technologies, and bio-based materials.

Global markets and value chains are undergoing changes due to geopolitical developments, digital transformation driven by artificial intelligence, and evolving regulatory requirements. The Techtextil and Texprocess forums will address these topics through presentations and discussions covering strategies and technological developments.

An international programme committee has curated the forums and selected presentations based on innovation, practical relevance, and strategic importance. The programme aims to connect new technological developments with practical industry applications while encouraging dialogue between specialists and industry stakeholders.

“Future viability does not emerge in isolation. It requires strong partnerships, global networks and open dialogue about new technologies, strategies and business models. The Techtextil and Texprocess forums bring together this expertise, provide orientation and connect relevant stakeholders across industries to actively shape the future of the textile industry,” says Sabine Scharrer, Director Brand Management Technical Textiles & Textile Processing.

Techtextil Forum: focus on technical textile innovations
The Techtextil Forum, located in Hall 9.1, will address innovation in technical textiles across industries including construction, mobility, aerospace and apparel. The programme will include topics such as smart textiles, high-performance materials and circular recycling solutions.

Michael Lau of Terrot will present a session on AI-supported early defect detection in circular knitting and its impact on production efficiency. Huang Le Xuan from TU Dresden will discuss integrated textile sensor systems used for monitoring technical membranes. Rahel Heesemann of ITA RWTH Aachen will present bio-based alternatives to PFAS-containing coatings, while Augusta Silva of CITEVE will outline how residues from bio-based printing pastes can be converted into new resources. Jörg Schreiber from Dienes will discuss wet spinning as a technology used in regenerated fibres and closed material cycles.

Texprocess Forum: focus on textile processing technologies
The Texprocess Forum, located in Hall 8.0, will examine developments in textile processing, including digital integration, automation and sustainable production systems. The programme will focus on process chains, digital technologies, and production solutions for the textile manufacturing sector.

Angelika Menther of Style3D/Assyst will present how product development can be digitally mapped through a 3D- and AI-based end-to-end system. Michael Mayr of Silana GmbH and Michael Müller of Robotextile GmbH will discuss automated sewing systems and robotics in textile manufacturing. Elena Arkhipova of Optitex will present on integrated systems that connect design, pattern development and production processes. Marina Linning of Dürkopp Adler will discuss standardised user interface solutions designed to simplify production workflows in garment manufacturing.
