TEKPA delegation interacts with AEPC Chairman

16 January 2020, Mumbai : When a well-known print personality is chosen to head an important industry body, it is definitely an occasion for rejoice and extend congratulations. The news that Dr. A Sakthivel was recently elected as the Chairman of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) by the Executive Committee for the year 2020-21 has expectedly been received with jubilation and the applause has been pouring in from individuals and groups.

Dr A Sakthivel was first elected to the board of Directors of AEPC in 1982 thus serving the council for almost four decades. He is also the first person in the history of AEPC, who is sworn-in for the fourth time as Chairman.

Among those who reached out to Dr. A Sakthivel and extended good wishes was a delegation from the Tirupur Export Knit Printers Association (TEKPA), which recently met him in Tirupur along with its committee members. They congratulated him on the appointment and also took the opportunity to discuss some of the important issues facing the garment printing segment.

Sharing details about the interaction, TR Srikanth, President, TEKPA, said, “We are very happy with the news of this appointment as Dr. Sakthivel knows the industry and we are sure under his vision and leadership textile industry will move ahead in India. We also shared some of our concerns and suggestions for resolving them during the interaction. Dr. Sakthivel has a good grasp of the various factors affecting the garment printing industry and their implications. He has been representing the garment printing industry at various forums and is acknowledged as an industry spokesperson, sharing insights on important topics at regular intervals, so his being appointed as Chairman AEPC is really a positive development.
