The Bamboo Tribe : An eco-friendly approach to garments
The Bamboo Tribe founders share their rationale and how it benefits the world
Hi everyone! We are Aiyappa Somayanda & Madhavi Das – two crazy people trying to bring about sustainable change in a space that is rapidly moving toward unsustainability. In a world running out of space and resources, we should be buying high-quality clothes that last long and remain timeless in style, while also ensuring that the materials used to make them are not destroying our planet. This is what we aim to do with Bamboo Tribe. Produce high-quality, well-tailored, wardrobe staples, made from buttery-soft Bamboo fabric, better for you and the environment. At Bamboo Tribe, we believe that the little things matter. While we have opted for classic well-fitting cuts, we’ve also paid a lot of attention to all the details that go into making Bamboo Tribe Originals the most comfortable clothes you will ever wear. Our goal is to develop products that are not only beautiful and comfortable, but also made in a sustainable manner. To this end, we are always dreaming up ideas and methods to craft truly sustainable products just for you. Be the change. Switch to Bamboo.
Madhavi is a graduate of IIM Kozhikode, who spent a decade in the corporate world, as a VP at HSBC, Sales Head at Xiaomi and E-Commerce Director at LeEco, before giving up the pay and stability to do something close to her heart. Aiyappa worked in consulting after he graduated from IIM Trichy, and then in sales at Xiaomi & LeEco, where the initial idea for Bamboo Tribe took shape, until he was ready to take the leap and chase his dream. The little things. They matter.
