Triton Electric Vehicle to Invest US1 Billion in India – To Launch Model N4 Sedan at Rs.35 Lakhs

14 January 2021: Triton Electric Vehicle LLC, headquartered in Cherry Hill, New Jersey-USA, has launched the Triton Model N4 sedan, fitted with the high-efficiency rooftop solar panel and the feature of energy routing as per the typical driving needs of the vehicle on Indian roads.

Triton-EV is the revolutionary new subsidiary of Triton Solar, a leader in solar panel and battery engineering. Himanshu Patel has extensive experience in the electronics industry. Prior to founding Triton Solar, he served as a trained engineer and founded two additional companies in the electronics sector.

Interestingly, Triton Solar is ‘powered’ by high powered personalities such as Suniel Shetty, film actor, producer and entrepreneur, as its World-wide Corporate Ambassador; Sunil Gavaskar, a cricket commentator and former cricketer as the World-wide sports Ambassador, and Clive Lloyd, former West Indies cricket captain, as the Triton’s Ambassador Of Caribbean.

As announced by the company, Triton Electric Vehicle’s Model N4 sedan is going to be available in 4 different variants. The base model will be priced at Rs.35 lakhs plus. The company is also in advance stage of deliberations with Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) and there would be a potential joint venture between the two companies for the manufacturing of Batteries and Electronics Systems for Energy Storage System and EVs.

Founded by Himanshu B. Patel, Triton Electric Vehicle LLC is an electric automotive manufacturer aimed at bringing technological advancements to the world of electric vehicles and clean energy solutions. As per media reports, Triton Electric Vehicle plans to invest about USD1 billion in India.

In a statement, Himanshu B. Patel, CEO of Triton Electric Vehicles said “The company has strong plans for expanding in the Indian market. This expansion will be in the area of setting up a manufacturing base as well as developing a strong customer base for various models of Triton Electric Vehicles. From setting up a state-of-the-art manufacturing infrastructure to creating a strong EV auto manufacturing business ecosystem that will benefit the SMEs who are in the business of automotive components.”

He further added that the basic idea behind using Solar Panel on the roof is to take advantage of solar power in conditions where the car is not in motion and the power is only required for the working of the on-board systems thereby reducing the dependency on the battery. This can further increase the mileage on the vehicle by another 40 Miles.
