Vasai Screen invests in Heidelberg large-format Foil Stamping system

24 December 2020: The portfolio of screen printing companies, offering print finishing job work service providers is fast changing. Vasai Screen Printing,“a large speciality screen printing service provider in Vasai has recently invested in Heidelberg Hot Foil Stamping (21.25 x 31.25 inch) in a bid to offer a wider choice to their offset printing customers. The company has a 30 x 40 Sakurai Cylinder press with inline UV, 2 semi-automatic screen printing presses (22 x 28) along with UV, besides complete screen making set-up.

The company caters to over 30 offset printers with their speciality screen printing service such as the routine spot UV (gloss/matt) and over 8 different UV special effects. About 80% of their value added service is done on packaging such as pharma, garment, electrical and cosmetics packaging sectors.

The company was established in 2014 and their growth in about six years is such that the company initially started with 22×28 inch semi automatic press with a 700 sq. ft floor unit. In 2016, within two years they dared to invest in used Sakurai Press and shifted the unit to a 1,200 sq.ft space and finally, they moved to a 1500 sq.ft x 2 production unit. Vasai Screen Printing has two partners Bipin and Sunil Tuscano; while Bipin comes from a hospitality industry work experience, Sunil is an offset printing press maintenance engineer and that is the advantage the company is enjoying as he has a good network with offset printers in and around Vasai and gets orders on goodwill. “Goodwill apart, we have a huge capacity to large spot UV orders on job work with about 50,000 sheets per day delivery power; with utmost quality and service,” says Bipin.

Covid-19 crisis kept our unit idle till May 2020 after which slowly we opened our unit and we started getting orders from Pharma, electrical and garment sectors. It was a tough time yet we kept ourselves cool and calm and we were in touch with our customers about future strategy. Meanwhile, we also tried to help the needy during lock down, we supported our employees with food items or any other essential help.

He says that after September 2020, the spot UV jobs started coming in but after Diwali, jobs are bit slow. “We hope to rise in the year 2021, although we have had 15-20% growth year on year before Covid-19,” he concludes.
