Marabu continues to invest in its production site in Paraguay

02 December 2025: In a social media post, York Boeder, CEO, Marabu, shared that Marabu continues to invest in its production site in Paraguay. “To celebrate the opening of our newly expanded facility in Paraguay, we welcomed key partners from across South America for a two-day event showcasing the latest technologies and innovations in screen, pad and digital printing. I am convinced of the tremendous growth potential in South America. The demand for printed consumer goods, such as cosmetics, glass and plastic packaging, medical products, and textiles, continues to rise across nearly all countries in the region.”

The post also mentioned, “A special highlight: Paraguay’s leading news channel (5dias) invited us for a live interview to discuss our investments and share our perspective on the future outlook for Paraguay and South America. Our Marabu subsidiary is strategically located in the tri-border area of Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina, in Ciudad del Este, just a short distance from the Iguazu Falls. During our open house event, our partners and customers explored our new production site and experienced the UNESCO World Heritage site in Brazil. We are excited about the opportunities ahead and proud to strengthen our presence in South America !”

Ciudad del Este is a commercial city, and is one of the largest free-trade zones in the world. Its tax-free status attracts many Brazilians and Argentines to the city. It is the largest city within the Triple Frontier region, which borders Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil and Puerto Iguazú, Argentina. The Itaipú Dam, one of the largest hydroelectric power plants in the world, is near Ciudad del Este, as is Iguazu Falls.

Ciudad del Este is the second most important city in Paraguay. It gathers 8% of Paraguayan gross domestic product, that is, about 3.5 billion dollars. In recent decades, Ciudad del Este has seen the development of a market in electronic and computer products, as well as consumer products, as well as luxury (perfumes, fine alcohols, and others). The economy of the city has diversified, led essentially by the installation of new industrial activities outside the traditional commercial focus.
