Formnext 2026: Leading 3D Printing Trade Show (17-20 November, Frankfurt)
06 July 2026: Formnext 2026, the leading global trade show for additive manufacturing and industrial 3D printing, runs from 17 to 20 November 2026 at the Messe Frankfurt exhibition grounds in Frankfurt, Germany. Organisers expect more than 800 exhibitors and over 38,000 visitors – figures anchored to the 2025 edition, which set a record of 38,282 visitors during Formnext’s 10th anniversary.
This is the 11th edition and it covers the full 3D printing process chain, from design and materials through software to serial production.

The UK takes centre stage
The United Kingdom is the 2026 partner country, chosen for its strong AM ecosystem across research, materials, machine development, software and high-value industrial use in aerospace, defence, energy and healthcare. Established names such as Renishaw will appear alongside faster-growing firms like Wayland Additive and a pipeline of start-ups.
The day before the expo opens, on 16 November, the AM Innovation and Standards Summit brings the industry together under the theme of aligning civil and military manufacturing standards to make more applications possible.
From prototypes to production
The bigger story at Formnext 2026 is a shift in what AM is for. The question is no longer whether 3D printing works, but how to scale it into full production. Organisers point to automation as the top priority – bringing robotics and automated post-processing into serial production lines – and note that AI only adds value once those processes are automated in the first place.
The exhibitor map shows where the momentum sits. China leads international exhibitors with around 115 companies, ahead of Italy, France, the United States and the UK. With roughly half of all visitors travelling from outside Germany, Formnext remains the place the global AM industry meets each November.
