Vehicle Tech Week Europe Wraps Up Stuttgart Edition, Expands for 2027

31 July 2026: Vehicle Tech Week Europe 2026 concluded at Messe Stuttgart after bringing three specialist automotive exhibitions together from June 23 to 25. The combined event covered vehicle testing, autonomous technology and automotive interiors as engineering teams face growing links between software, safety, validation and cabin design.

The platform comprised Automotive Testing Expo Europe, Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo Europe and Automotive Interiors Expo Europe. Organisers said the format allowed visitors to move between the three exhibitions with one pass and meet companies working across the vehicle-development process.

Three fields meet under one roof

Automotive Testing Expo Europe focused on testing, development and validation technologies. Its scope included simulation, hardware-in-the-loop systems, electric-vehicle and battery testing, durability, crash testing, emissions measurement, electronics and electromagnetic compatibility.

Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo Europe covered sensors, perception, artificial intelligence, software-defined vehicle architecture, virtual validation, regulation and safety. Automotive Interiors Expo Europe brought together work on seating, materials, lighting, acoustics, human-machine interfaces and cabin user experience.

The structure reflected a practical change in vehicle development: testing, automation, software and interior design increasingly affect one another. A software-defined feature, for example, may involve interface design, safety validation and hardware testing rather than a single engineering team. Organisers also hosted technical sessions, workshops, forums, roundtables and a paid autonomous-vehicle conference.

Vehicle Tech Week Europe adds a fourth show for 2027

The event is scheduled to return to Messe Stuttgart on June 2 and 3, 2027. Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo will become Intelligent Vehicle Expo, while Automotive Interiors Expo will be renamed Automotive Design & In-Cabin Expo.

Organisers have also announced plans to add the Advanced Chassis & Powertrain Showcase. The fourth event will focus on the growing overlap between propulsion systems, chassis development, vehicle dynamics and platform architecture.

The revised format broadens Vehicle Tech Week Europe beyond its original three-show structure. It also shortens the event from the three dates listed for 2026 to two days in 2027. For the automotive technology sector, the Stuttgart gathering remains a place to compare systems directly and discuss how connected engineering disciplines can move from design and simulation into validated vehicle programmes.
