Siegwerk, X-Rite Bring Color Matching to the Cloud

31 July 2026: Siegwerk and X-Rite Pantone have introduced COLORWERK FastMatch Cloud, a browser-based color management platform for label and packaging printers. Announced on July 29, 2026, the system brings ink formulation, color correction and quality control into one cloud-based environment.

Built for distributed print operations

FastMatch Cloud is part of Siegwerk’s COLORWERK programme and is powered by X-Rite technology. It stores color data and standardised ink recipes in a central database that users can access around the clock through modern web browsers.

The platform can create formulations for different applications, selected colorant sets and customer-specific tolerances. Integration with PantoneLIVE gives users access to updated digital color libraries. A small local application is still required to connect a spectrophotometer to the cloud.

Siegwerk says the system can also reuse press-returned ink in new formulations or production batches. This may help converters reduce aged ink stocks, storage needs and material waste.

Calculations completed in under 20 seconds

According to Siegwerk’s product information, FastMatch Cloud completes color-matching calculations in less than 20 seconds. The company says this is about 50% faster than its previous system. The formulation and QC functions sit in the same interface, allowing operators to calculate a recipe and check the result without moving between separate applications. Siegwerk says this can improve first-time color matching, reduce ink consumption and limit press downtime, although it has not published quantified customer results for those benefits.

Kiran Deshpande, Global Senior Expert Color Management at Siegwerk, said the platform combines the company’s formulation knowledge with X-Rite Pantone’s color science and cloud technology. Nick Meyer, Business Unit Director, Print & Packaging at X-Rite Pantone, said the system was designed to give packaging printers a scalable and connected color workflow.

LOUPE Americas demonstration planned

Siegwerk plans to demonstrate FastMatch Cloud at LOUPE Americas 2026, formerly Labelexpo Americas, from September 15 to 17. The event will be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in the Chicago area. Siegwerk will exhibit at booth 1024.

The platform is now listed as available on Siegwerk’s website.
