Epson Good Design Awards 2026 recognise five product groups

21 October 2026: Seiko Epson Corporation announced in Tokyo, Japan, on 15 October 2026 that five product-design groups had received Japan’s 2026 Good Design Award. The winners cover home projection, two inkjet printer families, A3 document scanning and an Orient watch, with judges recognising practical design for homes and workplaces.

The Japan Institute of Design Promotion operates the award programme, which evaluates design’s contribution to people and society.

The latest recognition follows Epson’s 2024 Good Design wins, which included industrial printers and colour-management equipment.

Epson Good Design Awards 2026: Which products won?

The announcement identifies five winning design entries, several covering multiple models. These comprise one home-projector group, two inkjet-printer groups, one document-scanner group and one watch, rather than just five individual products.

4K laser projectors for living rooms

The EH-LS7500, EH-LS7000, EH-LS6000 and EH-LS5000 home projectors combine a laser light source with Epson’s 3LCD technology. Epson describes instant-on operation and low-noise performance, alongside a centred lens and an uncluttered top surface.

According to the judges’ comments reproduced by Epson, the design keeps vents, lens-shift controls and maintenance panels away from the top surface. This gives ceiling-mounted units a cleaner appearance. Shift-adjustment dials sit on the underside, while radially arranged exhaust fins direct heat away from the front of the lens. Epson’s separate 2026 iF Design awards covered a different projector series and printers.

Two printer families address small-office needs

The WF-4930, PX-M731F and WF-3920 multifunction printers target small offices and home offices. Judges praised their horizontal proportions, gently rounded bodies and dark, clearly organised control panels, according to Epson’s release.

A second winning entry covers the ET-4900, ET-2920, ET-2910, ET-1910, L3310 and L1310 series. These entry-level, high-capacity ink-tank printers serve home and small-office users.

Epson reports an approximately 20% reduction in cubic volume compared with the previous EP-M476T model. That comparison concerns volume, not a stated reduction in footprint or weight. The company also describes easier servicing and more efficient packaging, while the judges praised visible ink-level indicators and the control panel.

The award is separate from Epson’s 2026 Red Dot recognition, which included other ink-tank printer series.

A3 scanners focus on document handling

The DS-71000WN, 61000WN and 51000WN network document scanners address A3 document digitisation. Epson says their cover design reduces physical strain during frequent opening and closing, while a flat top provides space to place documents temporarily.

The judges’ comments published by Epson praise the handle and task-specific details. They also note recycled plastics and reduced power consumption, although the announcement gives no quantified energy comparison.

Orient watch combines GMT with sports specifications

The Orient RN-BC0001B combines a mechanical movement with a GMT function for tracking different time zones. Its specifications include 20-bar water resistance and sapphire crystal.

Judges praised the watch’s balance of specifications, finishing and price, according to Epson. Its mirror-finished surfaces aim to suit everyday urban wear as well as outdoor use.

Product availability varies by market

Epson cautions that product names and availability differ by region. Buyers should confirm local model names and availability with their Epson sales company; the award announcement does not establish availability in India.
