Modix Announces ‘Next Generation’ of its Line of Large 3D Printers
05 December 2022: Modix, a leading global developer of large format 3D Printers Announces major updates for its 3D Printers. New “Generation 4” Release will expand the core performance and capabilities of its line of 3D printers. Included:
– IDEX Dual Printing: IDEX stands for independent dual extruder, where each extruder can park outside of the bed while inactive. IDEX reduces much of the manual labor needed to remove support by efficiently using breakaway support filament and allowing the print of advanced models with internal geometries using water-soluble filament.
– Fast 3D Printing – Travel of up to 350 mm/s, high quality printing at 100 mm/s and higher for draft printing. The higher speed was made possible thanks to the use of strong Nema-23 motors on the X axis instead of Nem-17 as before. As well as by slashing the weight-load on the Y axis motor by half thanks to the IDEX. With IDEX configuration, there are two Y axis motors, one per each extruder.
– Fully Automated Calibration – Modix is now offering a full set of automated calibrations routines to all our models including automated bed tilt, bed leveling, gantry alignment and Z offset calibration.
Multiple other improvements including optical end-stops that improve job recovery accuracy, stronger Nema-23 Motors on Z axis, improved enclosure sealing and ergonomics, emergency stop button as default and a fresh new design. Near Term add-on road map includes a closed loop motions system, heated chamber, and a XXL – flow extruder.
