Multi-print process provides an edge: Zoramthantluanga, T. T. Arts, Aizawl, Mizoram

01 October 2020: I founded my printing press in 2010. We have two units, 240 sq. ft and 360 sq. ft and 8 people working in our press. We have screen printing, sublimation, digital and related equipment. We undertake to print garments, key chain, mug, paper, etc. as we have a multi-print process in our unit. We source raw materials such as paper, inks, chemicals, etc. from Delhi, China, Tamilnadu and Mumbai.

Owing to COVID-19, there has been lockdown and then relaxation and again lock down. So we had to close the business many times. Sometimes we closed for more than a month and sometimes we had to close just for a week. Right now we are allowed open business during the day. Due to the shutdown, there was not too much wastage of jobs or raw materials.

Although the market was flat, we got into mask printing. Since the reopening, luckily we started receiving steady orders but our main concern is the availability of raw materials and plain garments which we source from other cities. The materials sourced by us are now stuck in transport. So, the transport problem should get resolved as the lockdowns are being lifted. Hope we will improve day by day by the grace of God. During the Coronavirus induced lockdown it was a difficult time for all of us. However, we started making and distributing masks and serving tea for police duty.

Aizawl is the capital of Mizoram. There are 3-star category hotels which provide a much needed hospitality service for tourists and business visitors to Aizawl. Mizoram is a state in northeastern India. It is the southernmost landlocked state, sharing borders with three of the Seven Sister States, namely Tripura, Assam and Manipur. The state also shares a 722-kilometre border with the neighbouring countries of Bangladesh and Myanmar. Mizoram is host to numerous species of birds, wildlife and flora. About 640 species of birds have been identified in the state. The state has two national parks and six wildlife sanctuaries. Tourism is a growth industry. The state government has been implementing Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to encourage economic growth.
