OBITUARY: Ajit Shah, CEO of Shruti Arts Passes Away

22 May 2022: The print industry extends condolences to the family of Ajit Shah, CEO of Shruti Arts (one of the leading offset, screen & POP Houses in Mumbai), who passed away on May 20, 2022 at the age of 62 years. He was passing through a prolonged illness. He leaves behind his son Karan, 2 daughters Shruti and Mansi, and wife Meena. Initially based at Mazagaon he later shifted location to Navi Mumbai.

Starting his career in printing industry at a very young age of 25 as a screen printer, Shah was also doing canvasing from Charni Road (Mumbai). Gradually, with hard work, support and knowledge, in a period of 15-20 years he rose to be one of the top leading offset printers in India. He was known for one of the biggest screen printing unit for vinyl printing 15-18 years ago.

He had a ‘Total In-House’ facility for screen, offset and digital printing. People working in his company have today reached at top management level in many of the leading printing/ media houses in India.

His courage, timely approach and ability to take the risk made him one of the top players with FMCG sector and his work and production capacity was even considered a benchmark in South Asia. His company used to get the printing/ POP work from overseas, he used to cater to clients in many South EastAsian countries.

He was a preferred printer for many multinational corporations. At one time he had one of the best range of machineries in the offset printing industry. His recently launched venture, called Phoenix Print Solutions (P) Ltd., was named reflecting his philosophy to rise again from the ashes.

Anil Brahmbhatt, President, SGAI, said “I have lost a personal friend. We were very good friends from the last 30 years. He was a down to earth man, always ready to support the industry colleagues and helpful to staff members. My condolence to his family members and may his soul rest in Peace.”
