Bharat Tex 2026 Draws Nearly 95,000 Business Visitors, INR 14,300 Cr. Investment Commitments in first 3 days

18 July 2026: Bharat Tex 2026 drew nearly 95,000 business visitors during its first three days at Bharat Mandapam, with strong trade activity, buyer-seller meetings and policy discussions across the venue. The event brought Indian manufacturers together with buyers, investors, government representatives and industry bodies.

Spread across more than 16 lakh square feet, the event featured 1,647 exhibitors. It recorded more than 20,000 repeat visits, 11,315 buyers, including 6,090 international buyers, and 3,461 delegates and participants from 138 countries. More than 28,500 business-to-business meetings, over 100 business-to-government and government-to-government interactions, and several investment discussions took place during the first three days.

Bharat Tex 2026 generated textile investment commitments of about INR 14,300 crore, with more than 30 MoUs signed across several states. Karnataka announced commitments of INR 2,821 crore and 11,020 expected jobs. Bihar reported INR 1,476 crore and more than 40,500 expected jobs, Maharashtra reported INR 1,095 crore, and Andhra Pradesh reported INR 4,100 crore. RE&UP also announced an INR 4,800 crore investment in India. Organisers reported business enquiries worth about USD 2.8 billion.

State participation was broad. Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu joined as State Partners, while other states and Union Territories presented their textile industries through dedicated pavilions. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann attended the event, along with senior ministers from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Ministerial delegations came from New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Russia, Cambodia and Portugal, alongside representatives from the European Union. More than 30 industry and business delegations also attended from countries including the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, South Korea, the UAE, Australia, France and Germany.

The event hosted 100 knowledge sessions with more than 600 policymakers, industry executives, academics and subject experts. Discussions covered global trade, sustainability, circularity, technology, artificial intelligence, responsible sourcing, investment and technical textiles.

At the Sanrachna Hackathon in the TBD Pavilion, students and other participants presented working solutions for the technical textiles sector. These included protective clothing for farmers, products for diabetic wound care and lightweight insulated mattresses for extreme climates. Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh and Union Minister of State for Textiles and External Affairs Pabitra Margherita recognised the participants’ work.

Bharat Tex 2026 also arranged exposure visits for more than 250 entrepreneurs and weavers from Aspirational Districts. The programme gave MSMEs direct access to buyers, exhibitors and industry experts, along with practical guidance on international quality standards, branding, product development and exports. The International Apparel Federation held its board meeting alongside the event.

Another major development was the signing of a Letter of Intent between the Bharat Tex Trade Federation and Première Vision Paris. The proposed work covers market access, sustainable sourcing, design knowledge and direct buyer-seller links between India and the European Union, with a focus on Indian manufacturers, exporters and MSMEs.

The event also included discussions on taking India’s heritage textiles to premium international markets. Designers Rahul Mishra and Vaishali Shadangule, joined by industry leaders, said India’s handlooms, handicrafts and traditional weaving could stand apart through craftsmanship and cultural storytelling.

On the exhibition floor, CMAI’s Brands of India Pavilion in Hall No. 4 brought together more than 70 Indian apparel brands. For the first time, it included a dedicated Intimate & Innerwear section, with brands from Mumbai and Delhi presenting new products. Participants included Westside, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, U.S. Polo Assn., Arrow, Flying Machine, Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, Reebok, American Eagle, Ralph Lauren, Sabyasachi, Tarun Tahiliani, Jaypore, W for Woman, Bewakoof, Dollar, Bodycare and Duke.

Sustainability was also a core theme at the Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub, jointly presented by CMAI and the Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability. Built around the theme “Sustainable, Circular and Competitive Bharat,” the pavilion brought recyclers, manufacturers, brands, technology providers and other industry partners together. Its six zones covered impact, recycling at scale, waste-to-fashion production, circular manufacturing, new materials and industry discussions.

By the end of day three, Bharat Tex 2026 had combined large visitor numbers with investment commitments, trade enquiries, policy meetings and international participation. The figures point to India’s growing role in textile manufacturing, sourcing, design and responsible production.
