German Pavilion VIATT 2027 Listed in Ho Chi Minh City

05 September 2026: The German Pavilion VIATT 2027 listing is live for 24 to 26 February at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnamese mills still import most production inputs, so German suppliers of machinery, chemicals and materials have a reason to be in the hall.

German Pavilion VIATT 2027 dates, venue and status

VIATT is the Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and Textile Technologies. Official fair facts place the 2027 edition at SECC, 799 Nguyen Van Linh, District 7, open from 09:00 to 17:00. Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) organise the show.

The official German Pavilion page lists the same dates, names the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy as programme backer, and states that exhibitor registration has not yet opened. IEC Inter Expo Consult GmbH is the implementation company.

The 2026 pavilion was the first. The 2026 German Pavilion roster named 11 exhibitors, including Lindauer DORNIER, ZSK Stickmaschinen, Georg Sahm and Hohenstein Laboratories, on a BMWE-backed stand then run by Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH.

Organisers say the 2026 fair drew nearly 460 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions and more than 17,000 visits from 54 markets, on about 18,000 sqm. Those are previous-edition results, not 2027 forecasts. They come as Vietnam tries to move up the textile value chain, a shift that is still under way rather than finished.

Vietnam still buys imported kit

A Messe Frankfurt release dated 24 August 2026, citing Vietnam News, said the textile and garment industry exported more than USD 22 billion in the first half of 2026 and kept a full-year target of USD 48 billion. The same source says more than 60 percent of production inputs are still imported.

That import share, not a slogan about factory automation, is why machinery and materials vendors keep coming. It does not prove that any one exhibitor will book orders on the SECC floor.

What EVFTA actually changes

The EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement entered into force on 1 August 2020. Preferential rates apply only to qualifying originating goods, with the usual origin paperwork.

EU textile exports to Vietnam no longer pay the previous 12 percent Vietnamese duty. Most EU machinery and appliances no longer pay duties of up to 35 percent; the rest was scheduled to be duty-free by August 2025. Nearly 70 percent of EU chemical exports no longer pay duties of up to 5 percent, with the remainder phased out over three, five or seven years.

That is not a blanket zero-duty ticket for every crate leaving a German port.

Where German suppliers are being pointed

A promotional brief for German exhibitors points to four live pockets of demand rather than a generic factory-upgrade pitch. Textile chemicals and performance finishes sit first, because mills face tighter environmental rules; German specialty chemistry already shows up in specialty chemical solutions at Techtextil. Functional fabrics, recycled fibres and bio-based materials come next, a theme that also ran through bio-based materials coverage at Techtextil India 2025.

Garment automation, energy use, data and traceability form a third pocket. Messe Frankfurt has been grouping digital tools across its textile fairs under AI across textile fairs.
