Bijender Kaushik Receives OPA’s Print Shree Award 2026
08 October 2026: Dr. Bijender Kaushik received the Offset Printers’ Association’s Print Shree Award 2026 during the 24-26 September 2026 conference at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology in Hisar, Haryana. The honour recognises his contribution to print education, research and students’ careers, as well as collaboration between academic institutions and industry. According to OPA’s announcement, published by City Air News on 1 October 2026, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Vijay Kumar and Prof. Kamal Mohan Chopra jointly presented the award.
Print Shree Award 2026 recognises work in education
OPA describes Kaushik, 37, as the youngest Indian recipient of the honour. The association identifies him as a gold medallist in M.Tech. Printing Technology who also holds a Ph.D. in Printing Technology. It lists his professional engagements as OPA’s technical coordinator, an association with the Bureau of Indian Standards and work as a G7 Expert, without specifying the scope of the latter two roles.
OPA credits Kaushik with publishing and presenting more than 50 research papers in national and international journals and conferences. It also says he helped place more than 500 students and provided career guidance to thousands of young people.
Student development and industry connections
The announcement links Kaushik with “Proud to be Print Educator”, “PrintFlame” and the Print Olympiad. His award citation, as described in the report, recognises student development and technical work alongside academic achievement. OPA’s account places his work with students and industry partners at the centre of its reasons for the selection.
The association also recognises students through a separate competition. Screen Print India’s report on the 2026 Print Olympiad winner records Sakshi Prashant Sonawane’s national title at GJUST. Chopra’s post-conference account confirms that the Hisar programme included recognition of the Olympiad winner as well as the Print Shree Award.
What OPA says about the selection
OPA President Parveen Aggarwal said Kaushik’s contribution to print education, research and collaboration with industry made his selection meaningful. Chopra described the award as recognition of sustained service to the profession, including student development rather than academic qualifications alone.
Aggarwal also said OPA representatives had no role in the final selection and that an independent jury decided the recipient. The announcement describes jurors drawn from administration, academia and the media.
Award presentation at the Hisar conference
Chopra’s post-event account confirms that OPA and GJUST’s Department of Printing Technology jointly organised “AI and Robotics: Revolutionizing Printing & Packaging”. Screen Print India’s earlier Hisar printing conference preview set out the same dates and venue. The event brought printing professionals and academics together to discuss how artificial intelligence and robotics could change production.
The honour follows earlier recognition of industry professionals. Screen Print India previously reported Nirmal Goyal’s 2025 selection, illustrating the award’s coverage of printing businesses as well as education. Kaushik’s 2026 recognition centres on the academic and student-development side of the profession.
