PLASTINDIA 2028 Preparations Advance for New Delhi Exhibition

13 October 2026: Plastindia Foundation has begun preparations for PLASTINDIA 2028, scheduled for 10-14 February 2028 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Government meetings in August 2026 focused on international promotion and export competitiveness, setting the direction for an exhibition intended to connect Indian plastics manufacturers with overseas markets and technology partners.

PLASTINDIA 2028 dates and industry focus

The forthcoming exhibition will be the 13th edition. Plastindia Foundation identifies export-led growth and making India a preferred sourcing base for plastic products among its central objectives. Its mission also includes education, research and better recycling techniques.

For processors, converters and packaging businesses, the preparations offer an early indication of the organiser’s priorities. International outreach and industry development feature in the foundation’s published updates; a detailed 2028 conference programme and machinery demonstration schedule remain unconfirmed in the sources reviewed.

International outreach takes shape

According to the foundation’s account of its ITPO meeting, a delegation met India Trade Promotion Organisation leaders in New Delhi on 17 August 2026. Dr. Raju D. Desai, President of Plastindia Foundation, and Kailash B. Murarka, Chairman of the National Executive Council for PLASTINDIA 2028, joined the discussions.

The foundation reported plans for a Trade Promotion Desk to support international promotion of trade shows and support for an ambassadors’ meeting to promote PLASTINDIA 2028 in target countries. These are preparation measures, not evidence of confirmed overseas attendance or completed business agreements.

Export competitiveness and skills enter discussions

In a separate meeting with the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals on 18 August 2026, foundation representatives discussed finished-plastics exports, possible cluster development and industry manpower needs.

The foundation’s account also refers to skills support through CIPET centres at production hubs such as Vapi and Rajkot, along with raw-material pricing proposals intended to improve domestic manufacturers’ competitiveness. The report describes discussion topics, rather than approved schemes or new financial commitments.

Recycling remains part of the wider agenda

Plastindia Foundation’s stated mission connects industry growth with recycling and environmental performance.

For packaging printers and converters, circularity also involves labels and container reuse. The earlier report on wash-off labels for reusable containers offers a practical example, separate from the forthcoming exhibition’s programme.

Led by Plastindia Foundation President Dr. Raju D. Desai and PLASTINDIA 2028 National Executive Council Chairman Kailash Murarka, the initiative aims to build on the scale and international reach of previous editions. The launch marks the beginning of a coordinated campaign to attract exhibitors, buyers, technology leaders and industry delegations, reinforcing India’s growing importance in the global plastics economy.
