EFI Agfa DPS Combination to Unite Industrial Inkjet Businesses

02 October 2026: EFI and Agfa-Gevaert announced an agreement on 28 September 2026, in Mortsel, Belgium, and Londonderry, New Hampshire, to combine EFI with Agfa’s Digital Printing Solutions business. The proposed EFI Agfa DPS combination would bring packaging, textile and display printing technologies into one business, with completion targeted by the end of 2026.

How the EFI Agfa DPS combination would work

Under the joint transaction announcement, an affiliate of private equity firm Siris would own 60% of the combined company, while Agfa would hold 40%. Despite those unequal ownership stakes, the companies say Siris and Agfa would act as equal partners under the governance structure.

The agreement covers Agfa’s Digital Printing Solutions business, known as Agfa DPS, rather than the entire Agfa-Gevaert group. EFI is already a Siris portfolio company.

The proposed combination builds on the companies’ 2024 technology partnership, which expanded their product offerings through access to complementary printing technologies. It now takes that cooperation beyond a commercial partnership towards joint ownership of the operating businesses.

Which printing technologies would come together?

EFI contributes corrugated packaging, roll-to-roll, hybrid and textile printing capabilities through its Nozomi, VUTEk and Reggiani platforms. Agfa DPS brings display graphics, décor and packaging applications, with a portfolio that includes Jeti Tauro, Onset Panthera and SpeedSet Orca.

For sign and display printers, Screen Print India’s coverage of the Jeti Tauro HS update provides background on one of the product families involved. The proposed company would also bring together expertise in print engines, inks, software and workflow, supported by a global sales and service network.

Packaging forms another part of the proposed business. Earlier coverage of SpeedSet Orca field testing explains the development of that Agfa platform. Its inclusion alongside EFI’s packaging technology gives the agreement relevance beyond wide-format graphics.

Revenue forecast and customer reach

The companies forecast approximately EUR 540 million, stated in the announcement as USD 625 million, in combined 2026 revenue on a pro forma basis. This is an estimate for the two businesses viewed together, not a completed-year result or the purchase price.

They also say the combined business would serve thousands of customers across more than 100 countries, drawing on their respective strengths in North America and Europe. Management expects broader cross-selling opportunities and access to additional applications and geographies.

DC Advisory acted as exclusive financial adviser to EFI and Siris, while Sidley Austin LLP served as their legal adviser, according to the joint announcement.
