GMG Americas Becomes Durst Open Software Initiative Reseller

22 September 2026: GMG Americas has joined the Durst Open Software Initiative as an authorized reseller across the Americas. Announced on 17 September 2026 in Brixen, Italy, and Hingham, Massachusetts, the partnership adds access to Prepare and Produce software ahead of PRINTING United Expo in Las Vegas, extending GMG Americas’ offering into prepress and production automation.

According to Durst’s partnership announcement, the agreement combines GMG’s color management expertise and regional sales, service and support with OSI’s modular software portfolio. OSI aims to connect technologies and production environments across different equipment brands.

What the Durst Open Software Initiative adds

The agreement names two products with different roles in the print workflow. Prepare is a browser-based prepress application for automated file checking, correction, preparation and PDF processing. It extends GMG Americas’ offering into tasks that take place before RIP processing and printing.

Produce combines RIP processing with color management incorporating GMG technology. Durst describes it as an open production platform for display graphics environments. The distinction is practical: Prepare handles file preparation, while Produce addresses RIP processing and color-managed production.

The reseller appointment builds on an existing technology relationship, rather than marking the first collaboration between the companies. Screen Print India previously covered GMG integration into Durst Workflow, providing background to the new sales agreement.

A wider workflow role for GMG Americas

Chris Schowalter, Global Sales Director Software at Durst Group AG, described GMG as an existing OSI technology partner. He said GMG Americas’ understanding of demanding color environments and its regional support capabilities were reasons for adding the company to the reseller network.

Joseph Varone, President of GMG Americas, said customers want to simplify production and reduce manual intervention. He positioned the agreement as a way to support more of their workflow while retaining GMG’s focus on color quality.

How OSI fits into Kyveris

Durst describes OSI as the open, vendor-neutral integration layer of Kyveris, its broader approach to industrial intelligence in digital print production.
