Heimtextil 2027 Sets Out Sourcing and Interior Design Plans

16 October 2026: Heimtextil 2027 will take place from 12-15 January 2027 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Organiser Messe Frankfurt has announced new sourcing and bedding areas alongside a textile-design programme, giving manufacturers and buyers a setting to compare interior collections, assess functional materials and plan business partnerships.

What will Heimtextil 2027 offer sourcing buyers?

The Global Home sourcing programme connects international volume manufacturers with buyers of home and contract textiles. Global Home: Bed, Bath & Kitchen will occupy Halls 8.0 and 9.1, while Global Home: Windows, Fabrics & Decor will sit in Halls 12.0 and 12.1. Global Home Excellence will feature jury-selected manufacturers in Hall 9.0.

A new Carpets & Rugs Excellence area in Hall 11.0 will present selected international volume manufacturers. Messe Frankfurt says an independent expert jury will choose participants for their product quality, workmanship and manufacturing expertise. The area targets retail, hospitality and contract buyers seeking suppliers for different order volumes.

The emphasis on connecting product categories continues the approach outlined in Heimtextil’s 2026 hall plans.

Home-Maxxing puts textile performance in context

Alcova Milano has developed Heimtextil Trends 27/28 under the title “Home-Maxxing – The Performance of Everyday Living”. The presentation examines the tension between demands for better performance and the need for homes that offer comfort without constant pressure to improve. It continues Alcova’s Heimtextil trends collaboration, which began with the 25/26 programme.

The Trend Space in Hall 4.2 will present three directions. Staged Competence makes technical performance visible through design. Inside, Out exposes structures and connections, including removable covers and visible fastenings. Hyper Presence focuses on touch, texture and how materials age, using natural fibres and other tactile surfaces.

Patricia Urquiola’s 2027 contribution will sit within the Trend Space. Her third year of collaboration with Heimtextil will bring three sculptures: a further development of “Bambi” and two new pieces created for the fair. Messe Frankfurt says Bambi’s metallised surface uses Ohoskin, a material made from by-products of Sicilian oranges. Alcova connects the sculpture to Hyper Presence, contrasting its industrial appearance with its material origin to examine how objects contribute to comfort and physical presence in interiors.

Contract textiles and sustainability

The Interior.Architecture.Hospitality programme will connect architects, interior designers and hospitality specialists with functional contract textiles, a curated selection of materials, talks and guided tours.

Sustainability remains part of the wider programme through the Econogy Hub, which brings together certification bodies and sustainability-focused businesses, and expert-led Econogy Tours.

Comfort & Connect expands bed and bath sourcing

The new Comfort & Connect area will occupy the foyer of Hall 5.1, with bed and bath textiles, decorative cushions and home accessories. It targets specialist retailers, international buyers and decision-makers in hospitality and contract furnishing. In its 4 August 2026 announcement, Messe Frankfurt named confirmed participants including Auskin Europe, Essenza Home, Formesse and Zoeppritz. Nearby, Sleep & Meet will return in Hall 4.0 within Smart Bedding.

Indian exporters can use the programme to identify relevant buyer groups and prepare product specifications before the fair. Earlier coverage of India’s Heimtextil 2025 pavilion provides context for the country’s participation. The 2027 announcements describe planned exhibition formats, not confirmed orders or export gains.
