OBITUARY: Shreyas V. Pandya, Chairman of Sahitya Mudranalaya (P) Ltd., Ahemdabad Passes Away
25 December 2023: Shreyas V. Pandya, Chairman, Sahitya Mudranalaya (P) Ltd. Ahmedabad is no more. As the NextGen, the legacy of late Vishnuprasad Pandya was further enhanced to newer heights by Shreyas Pandya.
Shreyas Pandya joined the family business from 1971 armed with the degree of B. Com. and professional qualification diploma in printing technology from Mumbai. He was actively participating in the business since the last 52 years.
He has also been conferred with the “Guttenberg Award” as ‘Stalwart of Printing Industry’ at the Golden Jubilee Celebration of All India Federation of Master Printers.
The positions he held at various organisation include:
– President: Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (2003-04)
– Vice-President: All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP), West (1990-91)
– President: Ahmedabad Printing Press Association (1987-2003)
– Hon. Tressurer: Ahmedabad Red Cross Society (2003-2014)
Shreyas Pandya is recognized in the social life of Ahmedabad as an excellent human being and a business leader par excellence. He also undertook responsibilities in professional bodies, business forums and community activities, and contributed his expertise and experience to add value for the success of their acitivities.
Shreyas Pandya was elected as President of Ahmedabad Printing Press Association in 1986 and the industry honoured him by presenting a citation when he voluntarily left the post in 2003.
He served the cause of development of printing industry of Gujarat, organising exhibitions of printing machinery and seminar of expert technocrats in 1988 and 1998.
Notable among his many social services and charitable acts through Sahitya Mudranalaya are donations of more than Rs. 2 crore for
– ‘Late Shri Bhagwatibahen Hemophilia Centre’ in the memory of his mother
– ‘V. S. Pandya – Sahitya Mudranalaya Blood Component Centre’ at Ahmadabad Red Cross Society
– ‘V. S. Pandya – Sahitya Mudranalaya Center for Communication’ in memory of his father at Ahmadabad Management Association (AMA) for Diploma Course in Communication
