Messe Düsseldorf India and PMMAI India Forge Strategic PLASTFOCUS Partnership for Growth

24 September 2026: Messe Düsseldorf India and the Plastics Machinery Manufacturers Association of India (PMMAI) will jointly own and run PLASTFOCUS 2027, shifting the plastics machinery fair from the Noida/Delhi region to Bengaluru. The next edition is set for 23 to 26 June 2027 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), and the show will join Messe Düsseldorf’s K Alliance.

The German trade-fair group announced the partnership on 22 September 2026. Messe Düsseldorf and PMMAI now co-own PLASTFOCUS, while Messe Düsseldorf India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, and PMMAI will organise it together from 2027. The company said this is the first time its Indian arm will co-organise a plastics exhibition in India.

PLASTFOCUS 2027 dates, venue and ownership

Earlier editions sat in the Noida/Delhi belt. The earlier PlastFocus 2024 show ran at IICC Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, New Delhi. From 2027 the fair moves to BIEC in Bengaluru and is planned on a two-year cycle after that.

The live K Alliance event roster already lists PLASTFOCUS in Bengaluru for 23 to 26 June 2027. PLASTINDIA remains a separate New Delhi listing for February 2028, so the two Indian plastics fairs should not be read as one show.

Ownership sits with Messe Düsseldorf and PMMAI. Day-to-day organisation from 2027 sits with Messe Düsseldorf India and PMMAI. PMMAI represents plastics processing, converting, packaging and allied machinery makers in India, and it founded PLASTFOCUS.

What the release claims about India’s plastics market

Messe Düsseldorf’s case is that Indian demand is still climbing while per-capita consumption stays low. The release cites unnamed market studies that put the Indian plastics industry at more than USD 44 billion in 2025, above USD 63 billion by 2031, and consumption at around 22 million tons.

Where PLASTFOCUS sits in the K Alliance

K in Düsseldorf is the parent brand. Messe Düsseldorf first organised it in 1952, and it returns every three years. The official K 2025 review records 3,246 exhibitors from 65 countries and 168,660 visitors from 157 countries, with 73 percent coming from abroad. Coverage of K 2025 in Düsseldorf followed that edition. The next K runs from 18 to 25 October 2028.

The K Alliance plastics network groups Messe Düsseldorf’s own plastics and rubber fairs with partner shows. PLASTFOCUS is now on that list, which the alliance site currently describes as 12 events. The company said the India move is meant to serve plastics and rubber customers first and could later support related work in packaging and printing. It still calls K the world’s leading plastics and rubber trade fair; that ranking is its own claim.
