SkyScreen International Commemorates Fab-15 Milestone

25 April 2024: When an organisation has an inspiring leader at the helm, scripting a saga of sustained growth, celebrating major milestones is a given. Seizing these opportunities to create a convergence point for friends, well-wishers and customers reflects the leader’s approach towards maintaining relationships.

When SkyScreen International (P) Ltd. recently marked the completion of over 15 years of successful operations with a function on March 16, 2024, the venue, Hotel Peninsula Grand, Sakinaka, Andheri, Mumbai was full of dignitaries from across the globe along with well-wishers and customers Pan-India.

The invitees from different parts of the world and this nation started gathering and interacting well before the function commenced as that had been the intention of organising the get-together in the first place. As the compere pointed out, the completion of over 15 years of successful operations was just the ‘official’ occasion mentioned on invitation cards. The bonds uniting the members of the SkyScreen conglomerate go back many, many, years, way before its inception.

“The real reason for organising this function, therefore, is that it has been a long time since our dignitaries from overseas visited India. We really wanted them to experience our warmth and hospitality once again, while also bringing together our customers, supporters and well-wishers for a truly memorable convergence, so that everyone can meet, greet and interact. On behalf of team SkyScreen we thank each and every one of you for all your years of sustained support. looking forward, we seek your presence, good wishes and blessings for many more such milestones to follow,” she explained.

It was reiterated that SkyScreen International is not a distributor but a high-profile consortium, a global conglomerate comprising leading international brands like Nittoku Japan, Ulano USA, Marabu Germany, Stahls’ USA, Zhongyi China, GCC Taiwan and Azon Croatia, bringing not only world class products, but also their expertise, values and commitment to its customers.

The host of the function, Anil Brahmbhatt, the Founder and Managing Director of SkyScreen International and President of Screenprinting & Graphics Association of India (SGAI), which is a board member of the Asia Screen Printing & Graphic Imaging Association (ASGA), was joined by SkyScreen consortium members Tetsuro Emori, President, Nippon Tokushu Fabric Inc. (Nittoku), Japan; Martin Stacher, Ulano Corporation, USA and Dirk Oelschläger, Regional Sales Director, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan for Kissel + Wolf group and others, in lighting the traditional lamp to get the function off to an auspicious start.

This was followed by the Deva Shri Ganesha dance performance onstage, invoking Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles who grants all wishes. The SkyScreen consortium members then shared a few words about this milestone and achieving it together.

Tetsuro Emori, President, Nippon Tokushu Fabric Inc. (Nittoku), Japan, said, “Tonight, we celebrate 15 years in India; as of 2008, we are here. Before that we didn’t have any distribution in India market, but we met Anil, and decided to come to India with Anil and Ulano. Now, 15 years have passed. In the beginning of 2008, we had nothing in the market. But now, we have hard-working staff in SkyScreen, dealers, distribution and customers. We promise we will provide the best screen mesh to the India market going forward.”

A message from Ulano Corporation Chairman, David Eisenbeiss was also read out on the occasion by Martin Stacher of Ulano Corporation, USA, who then shared his own views as well. “It’s amazing to be back here again. We are here to celebrate 15 years of SkyScreen. We are here to celebrate also the strong state of the screen printing industry in India, which is still growing quickly and very strongly. SkyScreen has continued to leave its mark in the industry. The success would not have been possible without our partners, suppliers, customers in the market. For me, from the first moment I came first time to India, I fell in love with this place. It’s so vibrant, the people, so much activity, the potential and the possibilities.”

Dirk Oelschläger, Regional Sales Director, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan for Kissel + Wolf group, said, “My dear Anil, what an incredible journey. 15 years characterised by brave decisions, determination and wisdom in sometimes very challenging times. I would like to thank you for that. This thanks also goes to the entire SkyScreen team whose constant support has enabled them to successfully get major projects off the ground despite of the challenges. Skyscreen’s success is also due to the fact that this great team knows how to skilfully combine the skills and personal advantages of each individual employee into a strong unit. Dynamics, innovation and progress with enthusiasm and commitment.”

Ken Emori, General Manager, Nittoku Mesh Division, the NextGen of Tetsuro Emori, was also invited onstage. He said, “It is the first time I have come to India, there is a lot of possibility for screen printing. So, I am excited to be here in India and join SkyScreen function.”

Ken Emori was then honoured by the SkyScreen International NextGen, Param Brahmbhatt and Pearl Brahmbhatt. Sharing perspectives on the decision to return to India and join SkyScreen after completing their studies abroad, Param Brahmbhatt said, “I’ve seen my father growing the business since I was a child. I was very motivated to become a part of SkyScreen over the years. I’ve just entered the business, but of course I want to grow this business much more and maintain my relationship with Ulano and Nittoku. Pearl Brahmbhatt, who also has set up her own brand ‘Wear Your Ego’ said, “My brand is doing fine right now, it’s growing. I’m learning mainly from my dad, how he has done his own business, how he grew from nothing to something so big. And I love London of course, but it’s better to learn from the master than just do your masters!”

These speeches were interspersed with performances onstage of traditional dances from different states of India; the Maharashtra Lavani, Punjabi Bhangra and Gujarati Garba.
During the function, some of Anilbhai’s friends, well-wishers and business colleagues like Himanshu Tiwari, Partner, KPMG India; Devang N. Sheth, Publisher, Screen Print India Magazine; Vimlesh Arora, Managing Director, JN Arora Group, Delhi and Vice President North of SGAI and K. A. Joseph, Managing Director, SJS Enterprises Ltd., Bangalore, shared their views about him as a person and professional while interacting over the years.

Those gathered were also informed that those who have the good fortune to join his team develop a sense of belonging and loyalty that inspires them to stay committed to him. The staff strength of SkyScreen is 36 members, many of whom have been with Anilbhai for more than 3 decades.

Anil Brahmbhatt then addressed the gathering, accompanied by the SkyScreen NextGen Param and Pearl Brahmbhatt. “Your presence has been instrumental in making this event a success. Reflecting on the journey, celebrating the past 15 years is just an excuse to express your love and blessings. Our voyage commenced in 1992 with Autoscreen, a humble shop in Girgaon that my brother Raju managed diligently. From 1996 — Autoscreen India to the present day in 2024 it has seamlessly transformed into SkyScreen. I firmly believe that honesty, hard work, meaningful connections, time management, and a delicate balance of luck will continue to favour us. As we move ahead, rest assured that blessings will multiply. Thank you all for being part of this remarkable journey.”

The entertainment quotient of the function was raised even higher with the grand finale, a sizzling dance performance set to the tunes of Party House Mix. Those gathered were then invited to interact informally with assembled guests and dignitaries over dinner.
